"What?? you want to follow her too?" asked Alfred as he turned to look at Mason who was just standing there, he wondered why this boy always followed those two everywhere.
"No Alfred" said Mason as he shook his head, even if he wanted to go along with them, Amalia would not like it, so he knew it was best if he stayed away from Amalia, he would talk to Lexi later, preferably when she calmed down.
"Then get back to work" said Alfred
"Ahh yes Alfred" said Mason as he snapped out of his thoughts.
"Oh yes, Alfred, before I forget, the items will be delivered by 1pm today" said Mason, he had received a call from the company earlier, and he was on his way here to look for Alfred, but that was until he saw Lexi crying like someone had died.
"That is good, when they arrive inform me, so that we can set up the Madam's office" said Alfred.
"Alright Alfred" said Mason.
"But don't you want the others to set the office, they can do it well" said Mason.
"No I will be there to supervise" said Alfred.
"Alright then Alfred" said Mason.
"Amalia should return soon, she has to get started on Lunch" said Alfred.
"Oh but didn't Amalia cook yesterday, why is she cooking again today?" asked Mason as it made no sense to him, the maids usually rotated the cooking amongst themselves in order to lessen the load.
"She asked to cook again today, I do not know why, but that was what she asked for" said Alfred.
"Oh I see" said Mason.
"So she better return and leave Lexi, she is suffering for her bad attitude" said Alfred, Mason could not say that was not the truth, because it actually was, and he could tell that Alfred did not care about what happened to Lexi at all.
So before Alfred could even think of transferring his aggression on him, Mason had already started leaving.
"Well Alfred, I better be going now, I will see you later" said Mason as he excused himself.
"Well alright then" said Alfred as he was left alone in the kitchen.
...
Later that Day.
"Goodnight my baby" said Natasha as she tucked Joy in to sleep.
"Have sweet dreams" she said as she kissed Joy on her cheek.
"You too Mommy" said Joy as she kissed her mother on the cheek too.
"Thank you my baby" said Natasha as she laughed.
"You are welcome Mommy" said Joy as she laughed.
"Now be a good girl, close your eyes and go to sleep" said Natasha and Joy did as she was told.
Natasha bent down there next to Joy's bed, waiting for Joy to fall asleep, and she did, Joy fell asleep holding her hand, so Natasha carefully peeled off Joy's fingers from her hand, when she succeeded in doing that, she stood up and quickly made her way out of the room, but she did not forget to switch off the lights first.
"Goodnight my baby" said Natasha once again as she closed the door behind her.
...
The next day.
Today was Saturday, most of the staff were released to start work by 10 o clock, while those who had morning duty had woken up early to come and carry out their duties.
Natasha woke up to the sun shining brightly into her room from her window, she had pulled the curtains to the side the night before.
Natasha took a shower, she wore dark blue skinny jeans with a white top, she combed her hair and put it up into a ponytail.
Natasha walked out of her room, she went right across the hall over to Joy's room, she opened Joy's door and walked in.
Joy was still sleeping soundly.
"Good Morning my sleepy head" whispered Natasha as she smiled and gave Joy a kiss on the cheek.
She did not want to disturb her baby's precious sleep, so she just left after giving her a kiss.
Natasha went downstairs, she made her way to the kitchen, where everyone was busy working, so it came as a surprise to them, when they saw the Madam who usually never went into the kitchen coming in her out of the blue.
It shocked them so much, that is was enough to make everyone stop whatever it is that they were doing and they looked straight at Natasha.
"Madam, what brings you here this morning??" asked Alfred as he turned to look what made everyone go so quiet and he caught sight of Natasha.
"Good Morning Alfred" said Natasha
"Good Morning Madam" said Alfred
"Oh Alfred, I needed to ask you to do something for me" said Natasha as she looked at Alfred, and she looked at back at everyone else who were staring at her like she was a ghost.
"Oh alright then, what is it?" asked Alfred
"I just wanted to tell you that I am not eating breakfast today, so don't dish any food for me" said Natasha.
"Oh that's alright Madam" said Alfred.
"Do you all have no manners can you greet the Madam" said Alfred as he turned to look at all the servants who were acting like they just all suddenly became mute.
"Good Morning Madam" they all said as quickly as possible.
You did not have to tell them twice to be polite, well not after what they heard happened to Lexi yesterday, they all wanted to keep their jobs, they were just so shocked of the Madam's sudden appearance that they could do nothing but stand still.
"Good Morning" said Natasha as she looked like she did not seem to mind them at all.
"Madam are you going out?" asked Alfred as he noticed that this was not something that Natasha should usually wear inside.
"Yes Alfred, I am going out" said Natasha.
"Please tell Joy that I will be back soon when she wakes up" said Natasha.
"Consider it done Madam" said Alfred.
"Thank you Alfred" said Natasha as she smiled.
"Oh Alfred, can you please lend me some cash, I don't have any money on me, I will pay you back later" said Natasha as she remembered that she needed money for a taxi.
"Of course Madam, It is no trouble" said Alfred as he happened to have money on him today and he gave it to Natasha.
"Thank you Alfred" said Natasha as she smiled.
"You are welcome Madam" said Alfred as he smiled.
"Ahh Madam, are you taking one of the cars out?" asked Alfred as Natasha was about to go on her way.
"No Alfred" replied Natasha, she knew that she was not welcome to use one of the cars, she did not want another Lexi drama with one of the drivers and besides, she and Alfred both knew why that was so, she was sure that her so called husband would end up fighting with her.
"I see Madam" said Alfred as she did not have to tell him why she said that, it was best that some things were left unsaid.
"Well I hope you enjoy your day Madam" said Alfred.
"Thank you Alfred, and I wish the same for you" said Natasha as she smiled and walked away.
Natasha walked out the front door into the driveway, she knew that she was not going to get a taxi anywhere near since she was still in the estate, she walked out of the driveway.
Today was the beautiful day, the sun was shining brightly, there were no clouds in the sky, and the trees and grass looked very fresh and green, today was a perfect Saturday morning in Summer.
Natasha sighed, it felt good for her to go outside for a change, and just relax and do something else, she had not been outside since she had been reborn, it felt a bit weird to be walking again, if she had any doubts that she was not reborn and still dead, well this would have been more than enough to settle all her doubts.
She could feel the Sun's warm heat on her face, the little breeze as she walked, the light from the sun into her eyes, she could feel every single thing and it just felt so good.
The Estate was relatively quiet today, there were no people walking on the streets, Natasha could not hear anything as she walked by the other houses, that was one of the reasons that she liked this place, it was just simply quiet.
Natasha walked to the estate gate, for a very beautiful estate it sure did not have a lot of security, the guardhouse was empty, she could not see anyone inside there, and the gate was left shut.
She counted it lucky that she had taken her keys with her today, Natasha reached into her pocket and she brought out her keys, she pressed a little button on the and the gate opened for her.
Natasha walked out the estate and the gate closed behind her, she was currently in the middle of nowhere close to where she wanted to go.
The Estate was in the outskirts of the city and hence why it was so quiet here, Natasha knew that taxi's rarely passed by here, which was why she knew that she could not walk all the way to the city.
She could not believe that she had not thought this through, in her past life, she had always taken one of her husband's cars whether he liked it or not, just to show how stubborn she was, and that she was still his wife anyway.
But she did not want to do something as stupid as that this time, and hence why she was going to draw a line, a huge one between that man and her, because of him she was so stupid and she ended up dying.
"Maybe I should call a taxi??" asked Natasha to herself as she brought out her phone.
She did not know what to do, she had not taken public transport in a long time, so she googled, where to find a taxi, and some websites came up, she called one of the numbers of the website.
"Yes Hello" she said as she heard a voice on the other line.
"Hello how may I help you?" asked the voice of the woman on the other side.
"I need a taxi" said Natasha.
"Okay, you will be sent one right now ma'am" said the woman.
"May I know where the taxi will pick you up?" she asked.
"Yes, In Peaceful Meadows, the estate" said Natasha.
"Alright then ma'am, your taxi should be there in a few minutes" replied the woman.
"Okay, Thank you" said Natasha as the woman cut the call.
A few minutes later a yellow taxi pulls up to the estate gate.
"Hello Miss, did you call for a taxi?" asked the man as he wind down the window.
"Yes I did" said Natasha.
"Get in then" said the man.
Natasha opened the back door and she sat in the taxi.
"May I know where you are going Miss?" asked the Taxi man as he started driving.
"To this address" said Natasha as she gave the Taxi man a little piece of paper.
"Well alright then" said the Taxi man as he drove to the address.
Natasha had decided that she needed something to do for herself, something that would keep her busy, the main reason for her death in her last life was idleness, she was so idle, that she let every single thought come into her heart.
She would make up stupid, crazy plans to tie down a man that does not even love her, and most of all she neglected the people who actually loved her most, she was a bad mother, she never spent time with Joy, the only thing on her mind at that time was how to get her husband back.
And it ended up costing her, her life, which was why she promised herself that she was not going to do that again, she was not going to be stupid, never again would she allow herself to stoop so low.
Now that she thought about it, she was sure that she had developed an obsessive disorder, it was not love that she felt, rather it was obsession, an obsession that would born out of grief, of everyone not believing her.
She had decided to get something doing for herself, she knew that the more she thought about it the worse she would become, so she started researching on things that she could do.
So she happened to see an ad online for a new company which was trying to recruit board members, so she was going there right now, to see what she could do.
"We are here Miss" said the Taxi driver as he snapped Natasha out of her thoughts.
"Oh Thank you" said Natasha as she looked out the window.
"Here is your money" she said as she gave him his pay.
"Thank you" he said as Natasha got out of the car and he drove away.
The city was bustling, everyone was busy going their own way, there were noises of car honks, and everywhere just looked packed, this was just way much more different than the Peaceful Estate.
Natasha was dropped right in front of the place she was going too, she just walked inside.
She saw a lady sitting at the front desk.
"Hello" said Natasha.
"Hello ma'am, may I help you?" asked the woman at the front desk.
"Yes, I am here for the recruitment of board members, I saw the add online" said Natasha.
"May I know your name?" asked the lady.
"Natasha White" she said.
"Oh ummm" said the lady as she seemed to type something on the computer in front of her.
"I am sorry to say ma'am, but the add was closed" said the woman.
"And you could not think to notify those who applied?" asked Natasha.
"We are sorry, that is out fault" said the lady.
"I am sorry for the disappointment" she said.
Natasha sighed, this was much more than a disappointment, it was an utter water of her time, she had come here to do something important and yet here they were telling her that they closed their ad, what a way to run a business, she said to herself.
"It's alright" she said as she sighed, she did not want to waste anymore of her precious time over here.
"I hope you enjoy your day" said the woman at the front desk.
"It is already ruined thanks to you" said Natasha to herself as she walked away.
