Chapter 157: Fear

"Tell me everything about your dream."

Iris blinked her eyes and blushed. The way Calixto stared straight to her eyes, speaking so gently as if he was caressing her with his tone of voice.

"Uhm…I-I don't remember my dream," she said, lying through the skin of her teeth. She averted her eyes as for Calixto not to see the lie in her eyes. She had no idea why she did not want Calixto to know about her dream. She just felt like Calixto should not know about the woman who was wearing a cloak in her dreams.

Calixto creased his forehead. He knew that Iris was lying on him but he let her with her lie because he was thinking that she must have a reason why she could not tell him about the dream that she had.

"I want to be alone," she mumbled under her breath. She could not take the way Calixto scrutinize her silently with her intense gaze.

"As much as I want to honor your want, I can't. It is not safe for you to be alone, not right now."
