"I believe in you," he told her, and it sounded hollow.

"You most certainly don't," she accused with narrowed eyes.

"Do you believe in me?"

She narrowed her eyes further.

"Such little faith," he said with a smile. "As luck would have it, a soul has arrived with a contract of intermediate difficulty. Three point five to four at most, I would say."

Ji-ho shook her head at the absurdity of it. Rael was asking a kindergarten student to do advanced mathematics.

"I'm not forcing you to take up my offer, miss Park. You can continue on as you are if you suddenly feel risk-averse. I won't blame you for taking the safe route."
