Chapter 54: Trust in the commander

"Think we might have to blast our way in," Archer said to Ilya as they stopped before the sealed cockpit door.

Ilya canted his head so very slightly as a thread of suspicion wormed its way to the surface. He'd already had his reservations about the ship after realising that every single human on it wasn't just dead, the bodies were all still fresh; Indicating that not a lot of time had elapsed since the attack. It didn't make sense to him then that the ship was only left with enough power for gravity but not basic life support systems. The readings on the HUD of his helmet visor indicated low oxygen and temperature readings. Something was amiss.

"Well, shit," Fable cursed. He and Ji-ho were watching the view of the dead ship on the display of their bridge monitors.

A section of the ship had its hull collapse inwards like a can of cola being crumpled.
