His heart skipped a beat.

"No scent?" He repeated in question.

Being shifted provided them with one of the most gifted abilities that was the highlighted sense of smell. It made it extremely easy for them to trace and track anyone because with one sniff in the air, they could tell which direction the person chose and what was the distance in between them.

"No, Alpha," Olsen repeated, equally irked, "we found no scent. We did not find it inside the building nor did we find it outside or anywhere near."

The scent of the frustration his brother felt reached his nose and ruffled his fur even further.

Having left no scent, those intruders had left them completely blindsided.

Malfrid fisted his hands as his claws elongated and punctured holes into his palms.

No scent made them almost blind in the situation. The scent would have told them who it was or what direction they had to chase the person in, but having no scent meant they had to sit still.
