Hey," Maria jumped in excitement om seeing Roy in her living room. He didn't look too excited. She noticed disappointment.
"Are you okay?" She asked, worried about the distant look in his eyes.
"Hey, talk to me" she tried to touch him, but he pushed her hands away.
"Am I a joke to you?" He suddenly asked, unable to hide the hurt in his voice.
"No, Roy, why would you even think that?" She asked, getting even more worried.
"Maybe it's time we talk and stop dancing around this subject," he said and took a seat. Maria, still confused, followed suit.
"I'm going to ask just once, and I need you to be completely honest with me," he said, and she gestured for him to carry on. He cleared his throat and tried to relax, but it seemed some internal conflict was clouding his mind.
