Alicia did not let her finish. She stood up and looked at mum, worry written all over her face.
'Mum, I would expect this from Kassy, not you. You suffered a lot because of that man when he forgot his duty as a dad. You can't be standing up for him now. We have other things to bother about.' She walked out.
Mum sat on my bed and reached out for my hand. The smile she had on earlier was nowhere to be found. Her eyes seemed a little dull and she looked at me as if waiting for me to react the same way Alicia did.
'Mum, you should not just let him into our lives like that.' I had no idea what to tell her and I did not understand how she felt.
