58.33% Emergency Marriage (English version) / Chapter 7: EM - 7

Chapter 7: EM - 7

After our breakfast was finished, the waiter behind us swiftly took the dirty plates we had eaten. Then replace it with cups filled with tea.

"How many days are you off, Dave?" Grandpa asked.

"Three days, Grandpa."

"You take very little time off. Aren't you guys planning a honeymoon abroad?"

"We will plan later. This marriage was too sudden. You didn't let us make honeymoon plans."

"It's okay, a honeymoon is easy. The most important thing now is that you have a wife."

"Frederick, when is the shareholders' meeting held?"

"Not rescheduled yet, Dad." Uncle Frederick replied after taking a sip of his tea.

"Schedule immediately. You just prepare as best you can. Because I'm going to introduce my daughter-in-law as the newest shareholder in the Anderson Group."

It turns out that Dave's words last night were not just a hoax. He said 25 percent of the shares would go to me. Good grief! I became an impromptu tycoon!

"Okay, Dad."

"Not only your daughter-in-law, Grandpa. I've kept my promise, now it's Grandpa's turn to keep Grandpa's promise to me," said Dave.

"Of course, I will keep my promise. But before that, you have to give a great-grandson to me."

Uh? great-grandchildren?

"Grandpa, you can't do that! The deal wasn't like that!" Dave looked irritated.

"Why can not? I just wanted to see how serious you were, Dave. After getting what you want, can you guarantee that Reina will always be by your side? I don't want to take that risk. If you can't grant it, forget the agreement."

"Grandpa, this is not fair to me."

"This is fair. I also want to be able to carry my great-grandchildren before God takes my life."

Grandpa's words seem undeniable. Dave beside me was holding back his anger. He looks the same as when I spilled ice cream on his head.

"We're done." Dave pushed his chair and stood up. "Reina, let's go out."

"Where are you guys going?"

"Didn't Grandpa want great-grandchildren?"

I glared at Dave's words. But I couldn't resist when Dave pulled my hand off the table.

Dave led me up the stairs and into a room. I can guess this is his room. Seriously is this a room? Isn't it a football field?

"Grandpa, it sucks!"

I silently watched Dave spit out his anger.

"This is not according to our agreement. What does the old man want?"

I'd rather observe the interior of Dave's luxurious room than listen to his nagging.

"Reina, you heard! Grandfather asks great-grandchildren from us. Can you grant it?"

"No," I replied casually.

"But if we don't have children, then Grandpa won't hand over the shares to me."

"That's your business, Dave."

"You're as annoying as Grandpa."

I was hysterical when I entered the walk-in closet next to the bathroom door. Dave hastily followed me.

"What's wrong?" he asked. I didn't answer. I'm still very excited to see this room. Gosh! Aigo! Omo!

Dave chuckles. "Even I have to share a closet with you."

These are not the clothes I have. Everything is new, neatly lined up. Arranged as needed. The t-shirt has its section, the dress has its own too. The bottom of the shoes. From sneaker models to stilettos there are. Still not enough, at the end of the storefront, there is a collection of various brands of bags. There is also an accessories wardrobe. Everything is complete from underwear to outer pants. Oops!

Is this a wardrobe or a clothes shop? Mine occupies the left side, while on the right is Dave's collection of clothes. It's as complete as I have. Only, of course in the male version.

Grandpa called me in his study. As for Dave, I don't know where he is. After nagging in the room, he just left.

"Grandpa called me?" I asked politely.

"Yes, my daughter. Come here."

I approached Grandpa who was sitting on a big chair. Grandpa then told me to sit down.

"I'm sorry for having to involve you in this situation. Even Grandpa has made your papa owe a lot to Grandpa."

"It's all happened, Grandpa. But sorry, did Grandpa give papa that debt on purpose?"

"If I'm being honest, I did it on purpose."

Good grief! I didn't know that grandpa had an evil side. It's like trapping us. Exchanging debts with me.

"But, Reina, I don't intend to lead you astray. Dave is the heir to the Anderson family. My only grandson. I just want to have a generation of quality people, not like the women Dave often brings home. And I've known your grandfather, Williams since we went to college together. We promise to match our children later. But I didn't know that we both had a son. So, our wish can come true after we have grandchildren. But unfortunately, Williams can't see you two together."

Oh, Grandpa Williams. I miss him so much.

"But, Grandpa. Is there no other way than to pressure us with the debt? Can't Grandpa have a good talk with Papa?"

"Your father was a very idealistic and stubborn person. He had known this from the start. But he ignored it. That's why Grandpa uses this method."

"You ruined papa's company and made him depend on you. That is very evil, Grandpa."

Grandpa Anderson laughed instead. "I'm sorry, my daughter. I promise to pay for everything."

"But what about me? Dave and I got married without love. I also still want to continue my schooling."

"Love can grow over time. I'm sure it's not that hard to make Dave fall in love with a girl as beautiful as you. I beg you, make him fall in love with you."

"Love can't be forced, Grandpa."

"I'm sure you can do it."

I sighed tiredly. Even though he's handsome, Dave is the most annoying man. Why is everything so complicated like this?

"And I also ask you to start tomorrow at the office. I've asked Frederick to convene a general shareholders' meeting."

"You mean I work in an office?"

"Yes, but you take it easy. Jack will help you study later. You're smart, it's easier for you to understand the company."

"But I'm still in college, Grandpa."

"About college, you're moving to NYC. Let's just say you're doing an internship in your office right now. And isn't it time you did an internship?"

Grandpa knows. I'm looking for an internship company. But if I change college, is it possible to continue my internship right away?

"You don't have to worry. You are now one of the most important people in the Anderson group. Everyone will respect you so you don't have to be afraid of being bullied."

I winced. I'm the kind of person who isn't snobby, but I do not like bullying either. So if that were to happen to me, I wouldn't stay silent either. Like I did to Dave before. Well, even though it turned out to be the wrong target.
