🎶Time flies so fast,
Yet so slow. I don't know if I'm waiting
Or I have let it pass.
Have I overlooked it?
Has it come yet?
When is the right time,

How ironic right? I am not sure if I am chasing time or if time is chasing me. I know I have let a lot of chances pass by, but I turned a blind eye and convince myself that it did not come yet, that I still have to wait. And now that I have slowly accepted my mistakes, I felt rushed, like suddenly I do not have enough time to do things I longed to do.
But it is yet another day to live and work nonstop.
I checked the time, it is currently 6:45 am already so I prepared fast to go to work. While walking to my office, my phone beeped so I checked it and saw Noah have updated me regarding my request,
"Addie, I already looked into your request last night. I'm having breakfast near your company, wanna come and discuss it?" I was already near my office and there I saw Ava is already here working on some documents.
"Ava I'll be meeting Noah outside, wanna grab breakfast together?" I offered her so that I won't be alone with Noah and so that I won't be guilty leaving Ava here alone as I eat. "It's okay ma'am, I'll have to finish this first" She answered politely. "Would that take long? If not you can just come after, my treat." I insisted and she gave in. "Okay ma'am, I'll finish it as soon as possible, thank you"

I went out first and it did not take long for me to arrive. "Hey, come sit" Noah offered when he saw me approach him.
"So, how is it? Are there a lot of options?" I asked immediately while taking my sit. "Not quite, and most of them aren't located in Australia so I don't think it might be of help.
The best company was located in Japan, I can say they are pretty much advanced, it would be nice if you can collaborate with them. Their competitor is in the US, I included it as well just in case. Also, there's this developing company in Korea but I think they lack resources at the moment so it would be a handful. The one located here has been in business for years but I can't see any significant progress, not sure though if they are currently developing something big. We'll never know." Noah explained.
"Did you include the last one just because you can't find any better company located in Australia?" I laughingly asked and he agreed while laughing as well. It would be nice then if I can learn some if ever I will be collaborating with any of the companies outside so we can also improve the robotics industry here in Australia.
"Apparently, yes?" he answered. "Okay, can I look at the portfolios?" I asked to check more on the details and study which suited our project best.
"Just a minute," he said and started looking for it when there was a sudden drop in the temperature around us. I felt chilly, maybe because it will be winter soon. But this doesn't feel like that, it actually feels weird and eerie.

I looked up and saw Felix in front of our table, glaring at us. This is what I am preventing to happen. I think he misunderstood this meeting.
Noah must have noticed it as well so he looked up and saw him "He is?" he asked, eyeing me and I hurriedly tried to introduce them to each other.
"Uhm Felix, this is Noah. Our parents are business partners so we became acquaintances. Noah this is Felix my...
uh, friend" I said reluctantly, not knowing how to describe my relationship with him. It's still in grey lines so I chose to omit the details.
Felix raised his eyebrows at me as if waiting for me to explain it further but how though?
"Oh okay," Noah said after a few seconds of silence. I am not quite sure but it is as if his mood changed upon Felix's arrival. "You can join us, we're almost done discussing anyway" he continued then Felix sat beside me. "Here are the documents, you can check them," Noah said after handing them to me.
While browsing the papers, Ava finally arrived. "Oh you are here, take a sit. This is Noah, you already met him when he came into the office yesterday." I said and I saw Ava blushing while looking at Noah. She noticed that I saw her expression and she smiled shyly while lowering her head and I smiled back.
Interesting.
"Oh and this one is Felix," I started and Noah cut in saying nonchalantly while eating "your boss' special friend"
His tone is somewhat different than usual but I just ignored it, I also did not comment any further and just let it be, maybe that's a better way to describe our relationship but I was just shy to say it myself.

When Ava is finally seated, I tried to ask for her opinion regarding the companies listed. "Ava, take a look at this, what do you think?" She looked at me as if she doesn't hear me correctly. Usually, her job would just be to assist me without her meddling in the decision making so she did not expect me to actually ask her opinion regarding such matters. But I think she is quite capable for her to be able to be assigned as VP's secretary right? I don't wanna waste her talent and I also needed someone else's thoughts before deciding.
"Just say what's on your mind. I wanted to know your choice as well" I urged her. And she started browsing the documents hesitantly. After awhile she answered. "Ms. Addison I think the one located in Korea is the best option, I think if we provide them some resources they will do a good job" she answered, and I smiled meaningfully. Looks like I got a brilliant secretary with me.
"Brilliant, I actually think so as well.
Even though the one in Japan is the most probable choice, I heard their CEO is hard to deal with. I have seen business articles about him before and I don't think the project won't be favorable for us if we chose them. Also, it might cost us a lot knowing they are quite high up the ladder already and we still have to consider how much it would profit us.
Their competitor in the US is out of the question, I bet they won't even consider us, or if they might, they'll gonna squeeze us too much.
And let's not talk about the one here in Australia, I think they are currently hopeless. I want someone who has fire in them that is hard to quench, which is what I see with the one in Korea. They only needed a little help with resources and I think they'll go further once our collaboration would be successful, right?"
"Noah, you can go ahead, aren't you already late on your first day?" I asked him after I compared the companies presented. "Technically, no. I wasn't employed yet okay. I haven't been introduced to the company at the moment. But if you want me to leave, then I'll go" he jokingly answered and I rolled my eyes.
"You are just slacking" I retorted. "Okay okay, I'll go now before you judge me any further and before my father will drag me to the company," he said then waved goodbye. I noticed that Ava's gaze is following him but I did not comment on it so it won't be awkward for her.
"Ava you can eat first, let's discuss it back in the office later," I said then turned my head to the man sitting beside me.
"Friend?" he asked and I shrugged. "What should I say though?" I asked him and he shrugged back. "Are you going to Korea then?" he asked changing the topic. "It's not set yet, I'm going to discuss it first with the team as well as the executives" I answered and he nodded "Just tell me if it's already decided so I can accompany you" I raised my eyebrows and asked,
"Didn't you say you'll gonna stay around Australia for about a month though?"
"I said I won't work for about a month, location is not permanent," he said smugly. I hope I can be as free as him.
"Fine," I said. It seems like Ava is already done eating so I told her we should go back to the office now and waved to Felix.
He waved back without looking away until we were out of his sight.
