A beautiful smile bloomed on her face. "Brother Zhen Yu, what do you think? Do I look good in this uniform?"
Mu Zhen Yu gave her another look over. He was not mistaken. The clothes Xiao Li Xue was wearing were indeed their school uniform.
The little girl laughed happily when she saw Mu Zhen Yu's expression. She wanted to give her friend a surprise and she had successfully surprised Mu Zhen Yu.
"Aren't you supposed to be at the kindergarten?"
"Brother Zhen Yu, I'm skipping a year," Zhang Li Xue told him. "A while ago, my parents let me take the test. The school said that I can begin to enter school beginning this year. Brother Zhen Yu, are you surprised?"
Mu Zhen Yu's eyes widened. Then, he slowly nodded.
He was not expecting that it would be like this. His heart was filled with happiness.
Zhang Li Xue was a year younger than him. Last year, he did not get to see her as much as he liked despite being in the same kindergarten.
Now that they were in the same year, he could see her more.
Mu Zhen Yu's eyes lit up as he realized something.
Since the girl had passed the test, then, she should be in his class as well, right?
"Xiao Li Xue, which class are you in?"
The little girl reported her class and she could see Mu Zhen Yu smiling happily.
"Then, we will be in the same class," Mu Zhen Yu said. His lips could not stop smiling. "Xiao Li Xue, you can stay with me. I will protect you."
"Un." Zhang Li Xue nodded. "Thank you, Brother Zhen Yu."
Mu Zhen Yu stretched his hand, wanting to stroke the little girl's head. However, his movement halted the moment he sensed the oppressing air around him.
The little boy looked up and saw that Zhang Li Xue's father was around. Instinctively, Mu Zhen Yu retracted his arms. His smile stiffened. "Uncle Zhang. Hello."
Zhang Yu Han stared at the boy unhappily. Then, his gaze shifted to the arm that was about to touch his daughter.
"Daddy, Brother Zhen Yu said we will be in the same class," Zhang Li Xue reported.
Instantly, Zhang Yu Han's face turned another shade darker. He often see this little boy around his daughter and he did not like it. Zhang Yu Han wanted to stop this boy from being too close to his daughter. However, that would only make his wife unhappy. Li Qin Yao had often said that it was important for Li Xue to make a lot of friends.
"That's good." Li Qin Yao spoke. She turned to the boy and smiled. "Zhen Yu, I hope that you can help us to look after Li Xue. She will be the youngest among the students and I'm worried that someone would bully her."
Mu Zhen Yu's expression changed.
As compared to Zhang Li Xue's father, his mother was much nicer.
"Auntie, I will look after Xiao Li Xue and would not let anyone bully her."
"Thank you, Zhen Yu."
Zhang Li Xue's parents accompanied her until it was time for the children to enter their class.
Seeing that the little girl had someone who will look after her, the Zhang couple was no longer worried to leave their daughter at school.
Zhang Li Xue waved her hands happily as she watched her parents and younger aunt leave the school. After school, she will still see them. Therefore, the little girl was not afraid.
The children began to gather around and formed a line.
Zhang Li Xue remembered that she had not seen Bai Qi and quickly looked around for him.
Seeing that the boy was not in the same line as hers, Zhang Li Xue began to wonder if perhaps he won't be in the same class with her.
The little girl continued to look around but still, she could not find the person she was looking for.
At the side, Mu Zhen Yu seemed to notice her strange action. The boy opened his mouth to ask what she was looking for. But then, he hesitated again. Mu Zhen Yu followed the little girl's line of gaze and guessed what she was doing.
"Xiao Li Xue."
The little girl turned around with a smile. "Hmm?"
"You... Are you looking for Bai Qi?"
Her eyes lit up. "Un." Zhang Li Xue nodded. She looked around before leaning over to the boy to whisper, "Brother Zhen Yu, do you know which class he is in?"
Mu Zhen Yu saw the look on Li Xue's face and his heart became unhappy.
He did not like the feeling of seeing Xiao Li Xue and Bai Qi together. However, the two of them often practiced basketball in kindergarten together. The sport was something that he could not be a part of, no matter how hard he had tried to join them.
Mu Zhen Yu thought of her parents' conversation a while ago.
Although he did not like Bai Qi, Mu Zhen Yu would always listen to his parents talking about him. Their families had businesses together and their parents were quite close.
He could still remember something that her parents had discussed about during a meal a few weeks ago.
"Xiao Li Xue, I don't think that Bai Qi would be attending the same school with us."
Her eyes widened in surprise. A few seconds later, Zhang Li Xue regained her composure and frowned. "That can't be right. I have asked Brother Bai Qi before. He told me that he will be coming to this school. The school's basketball team was quite good. He promised that we will enter the tea together."
His heart was aching again. Mu Zhen Yu wondered if the reason Xiao Li Xue had entered school earlier was that she wanted to continue practicing basketball with Bai Qi. However, he did not dare to ask.
"I'm telling you the truth," Mu Zhen Yu said. He saw that the little girl was staring back at him in anger and quickly explained. "A while ago, I heard from my parents that Bai Qi will follow his parents overseas. It seemed that his father was going to move for work. You can ask your parents about it. Chapter 47: In a Bad Mood
Zhang Li Xue has been in a bad mood all morning.
She had studied hard with her aunt and had finally skipped a year and go to school earlier. The little girl had thought that she could be together with her teammate and practice her favorite basketball together.
However, the person that led her to make this decision was not around.
She will finally be able to join a team at this school, but her first teammate was no longer around.
When Li Qin Yao picked up her daughter at school, she could not help but notice that the little girl has been in a bad mood. After helping Li Xue to wear her seatbelt, Li Qin Yao stroked the little girl's head and spoke. "What's wrong? You seemed unhappy. Did someone bully you?"
Zhang Li Xue pouted. "No. I just missed a friend."
Her lips curled into a helpless smile. Li Qin Yao did not expect that the reason her daughter would be in a bad mood was that she missed her friend.
Now that she thought about it, her daughter has been a deskmate with Fang Su Jin since her first day at the kindergarten. Now that she had a new deskmate, perhaps, Zhang Li Xue was having a hard time adjusting.

"Li Xue, you're back!" Zhang Yu Ying greeted the moment she saw her niece walk into the house. "How was your school today?"
"It was okay," Zhang Li Xue spoke. "I met a lot of elder sisters and brothers." The little girl looked at her aunt again. Suddenly, she seemed to realize that her aunt was the only person who knew about her teammate.
From the corner of her eyes, Zhang Yu Ying could see that her sister-in-law's expression did not seem right. However, before she could ask, her niece had tugged at her hand and pulled her into the corner.
"What's wrong?" Zhang Yu Ying could not help but find that her niece was acting strangely.
The little girl looked at her left and right, once she saw that her mother did not come over, Zhang Yu Ying beckoned for her aunt to come closer. "Aunt, come over, I have something to say to you."
Zhang Yu Ying squatted down so that she could be on the little girl's level. "What's wrong? Why are you being so secretive?"
The little girl cupped her hands to her aunt's ear. "Younger Aunt, do you remember Brother Bai Qi?"
"Brother Bai Qi?" Zhang Yu Ying remembered to keep her tone low to avoid anyone from listening to their conversation. "Un. That's your basketball teammate, right?"
She had secretly helped her niece to cover up her relationship with that boy. How could she not remember Bai Qi?
Zhang Li Xue's expression turned solemn. "Aunt, I heard today that Brother Bai Qi is moving away."
"Ah?" Zhang Yu Ying did not expect to hear this news as well. For a while, she could not react to this sudden news.
"Brother Zhen Yu told me earlier," Zhang Li Xue spoke. "He said that Bai Qi's father was moving overseas for his job. Brother Bai Qi is moving along with his parents. Aunt, what am I supposed to do? I no longer have a teammate."
The corner of her lips started to twitch. Zhang Yu Ying almost could not believe that her niece was worrying about her basketball team.
"Aunt, I did not even get to see him one last time." The corner of her eyes turned red. Thinking that she would not be able to meet Bai Qi again made her sad.
Zhang Yu Ying noticed her niece's mood change and hugged her tightly. As the little girl's face was pressed to her shoulder, Zhang Yu Ying could hear her niece's little sob.
Her heart ached.
In the beginning, she had supported her niece and Bai Qi, thinking that it would be fun to hide this secret from her brother. The first time she saw her niece holding hands with Bai QI, Zhang Yu Ying had thought that it would be cute if her niece grew up with a childhood sweetheart.
Who would have thought that the little girl would be experiencing her first heartbreak as well?
Her heart softened. She was not willing to see her niece this sad.
Even if they were going to be apart, Li Xue should be given the chance to at least say goodbye to that little boy. Otherwise, she would be sad for a long time and this might leave a scar on her little heart.
As the thought came to her mind, Zhang Yu Ying finally make her decision. "Li Xue, do you want to see Brother Bai Qi one last time?"
The little girl's eyes lit up. She pulled away from her aunt and stared at her with teary eyes. Her heart was feeling hopeful. She wanted to scold Bai Qi for leaving after she had worked hard to enter school earlier.
"But... I cannot promise that you will be able to see him," Zhang Yu Ying said. She was worried that the girl would be hopeful and be disappointed again. "Let me ask around if his family had left the country or not."
