"Of course not… of course not…" He said weakly.

"Say goodbye to your other eye then," Yue Niang warned, flinging him down to the floor with a loud thud. She grabbed her trusty makeshift stake and plunged down, only to find herself unable to do so, because someone was holding her back.

"Mom, what are you doing? Don't tell me you're really going to…" Tai Xuan whispered, horrified as he pulled his mom's hand away. 

When Tai Xuan first looked at the men, both of them had gouged eye sockets that were steadily bleeding. It was something he never expected to see in real life, and it made his stomach turn.
