Chapter 5: Unsuccessful Escape

The headache forming behind Su's eyes was a real hassle for him. He hated whenever that happened to him due to magic interference.

However, Su had learned to deal with it over the years. Luckily as well, since he would have been in trouble otherwise.

Su forced his body to relax in his captor's grasp. Since he could not smell anything major from the person carrying him, Su assumed that his captor was a beta.

Not only him, but the others in the room with him were also beta. This was the best piece of information he could have received baring his guards being omegas like him.

But of course, that was not going to happen. The Sentients' point of view regarding omegas and their place was a little backward. There was no way any omega would be put in danger by placing them so close to a would-be assassin.

Su opened his eyes just a little to take in everything that was happening around him. It was quite enough that Su was sure some kind of magical spell had been involved in the whole process to make his surroundings quiet.

His guards were talking with each other softly, their hands resting on their spear and their body alert. However, they were not paying any attention to Su himself.

Maybe they believed him to be harmless in his unconscious state. And if so, then they were for quite a bad time ahead.

Su waited and bided his time before he made his move.

Since they had decided not to kill him this far, chances were that he would not be killed instantly even if he resisted.

Besides, Su now had a mission he wanted to accomplish more than anything else.

The happenings of the plaza were a little blurry to Su but the intensity of Ignis's eyes was not.

And it had been Ignis.

Despite the wrong shape or color of those eyes, there was no doubt in Su's mind that the person in front of him had been Ignis. He could remember those eyes and intensity anywhere and at any time.

Also, the feeling he got from those eyes had been the same as his other half and that was not something Su could ignore.

And thus, he needed answers from Ignis. Answers he would not get if he remained captured in here.

"Be careful. Lady Ray would have our heads if something happened to this prisoner. I don't know why but she's in a foul mood" one of the guards whined.

His tone sounded displeased and gave Su the impression that the guard would rather see him dead than to have been captured.

"I'm sure she has her reasons for it but I can't say I agree. I would rather take out the danger right here and now. We have the perfect opportunity and I'm sure Lady Ray would understand if we explain how the prisoner got 'killed' in his attempt to flee" another guard offered.

It was pretty clear to Su that he needed to get out of this place soon or these guards would make good on their threat.

Su shifted his body a little and tried to move about. He had not been restricted in any way which gave him a lot of options.

Either these guys were fools or they believed themselves far too superior to have restrained him. Or maybe there was some kind of magic at play that Su could not tell.

But anyway, it meant that he could move about on his own and Su planned to capitalize on this.

It was easy to take out the first two guards with his bare hands.

As much as Sentients bragged about their powers, they were similar to humans in their basic structure and body strength.

The physical training as well as the element of surprise on Su's side helped him quickly dispatch those guards.

By the time the other three became aware of Su's moments, he had a weapon in his hand which allowed him to take care of those three as well. They never got any chance to use magic on him.

And then came the next obstacle in Su's way - the door.

It did not look to be locked but he could feel a magical signature all over it. It made him feel sick to just look at it.

But Su needed to brave his fear and disgust of that magic if he wanted to escape.

He tried to open the door with as much strength as he could muster and waited for the inevitable block he would be facing. He also braced himself against the hurt he would experience as a result of that collision.

But the door slid open as soon as he applied any pressure and Su felt himself almost slip past due to the force he had used.

He looked back at the innocently swinging door with a look full of disbelief. He had been so sure that it had been a trap but it had opened right up for him.

Had he been mistaken about the magic as well?

If someone would ask how and why he had been captured right after his escape, then Su would blame it all on his surprise at that moment.

His eyes met a familiar enough person's and all Su could do was curse his bad luck. Of all the people he could have met, it had to be the person who had restrained him the first time around.

"Shit" Su cursed but he did not allow himself to feel discouraged.

Instead, he rushed at the female to attack her. Maybe he could catch her off guard as well and then escape afterward.

That was the only plan of action Su had after all and he rushed at the female before she could recover.

Not that it helped him at all.

The female alpha was not caught off guard at all. Instead, she seemed to have been expecting his move and countered him perfectly.

By the time Su realized all that, he had been knocked unconscious from the female's attack once again.

However, this time there was a big difference between his capture. This time, even he knew he would not be able to escape his captor's grasp.

He tried to remember anything that could have helped him in this regard but nothing came to his mind at all.

Su could only wish for Erwin's safety now. He had no way to contact the other, nor ensure his one safety.

Su was not even sure if he would get to see the next sunrise at all.

And that is why it was a surprise when he woke up again, his body not aching at all. Nothing was threatening, nor any signs of any other persons in his room other than the female alpha who had captured him.

Well, she and the owner of a familiar pair of eyes Su had been avoiding thinking about. He wanted to go back to sleep but he knew it had been too late.

The other two in the room already knew about his awakening and were waiting for him to come around on his own.

Were they being considerate of him and his feelings?

But still, the situation was weird enough to make Su open his eyes and face his captors head-on. Nothing would get solved even if he ignored this situation.

It was just better to ask the other party what they wanted from him.

They had kept him alive this long and Su was willing to bet that they would keep him alive a little longer.

"We know that you are awake. There is no need to pretend to be unconscious any longer with us. We dismissed the guards as well so there is no need to fear for your safety" Su felt amused at their words.

As if the guards were any real threat to him.

"Your words are not helping our case, Lady Ray. Perhaps it is your presence that is the real issue here?" Su felt shivers break out all over himself as that voice rolled over him. It was power itself, that voice.

There was no need for him to recognize that voice. Not when his body and instincts made that decision for him and Su found himself leaning toward that voice.

His eyes met those familiar pair of blue which were all wrong. They should have been golden, bright golden with slits.

Rather like a majestic dragon who had descended on earth a long time ago.

"Your majesty, please keep your distance. You intruder, don't make any sudden moment or I will attack you" the alpha-lade replied but Su was not paying attention to her.

His eyes were focused entirely on the emperor.

The emperor who was looking back at him amusement as well.

"Is there something wrong?" that amused voice asked Su and it compelled him to speak. Su did not want to actually let those words out but he felt he had to ask that question to the alpha.

"What happened to your golden eyes? The blue is pretty as well but it is unsettling in an unnatural way" Su complained and he watched the alpha-lady erupt out into a shout.
