Chapter 122: An Answered Prayer and Irritation (1/1)

Rowan attempted to extricate himself from Wren's arms while the man continued to sleep off his own exhaustion, but the feat proved to be near impossible. Every time he tried to slide free of the embrace, Wren could somehow sense it, even through his slumber. His arms became a steel vice that held Rowan against his chest for hours.

With a sigh, Rowan traced his fingers up and down Wren's forearms, hoping to coax them into letting him go. He felt restless, and needed to be outside.

He'd promised Wren the night before that he would take it easy today as Nicasi had instructed, partially to placate his brooding protector and partially to convince Lysander and Alaric that he was strong enough to help with the comatose adherents as soon as possible…but surely it couldn't be considered too much to merely check on the souls growing in his garden.
