As night fell over them, the adepts set Rowan's patio aglow with their magic. Spirit lights in different colors hung overhead like decorative lamps suspended in the air, the colors merging and creating the perfect hue for staving off the descending darkness.

Wren stared at them for a while, then tentatively made his own light and set it free with the rest. It didn't matter if his was created with Disorder. It illuminated the faces of the people beneath it just the same.

The lights were scattered randomly at first, left to the whim of whichever person had cast them, but Lysander swept them with his hand into a neat circle when he thought no one was looking, Wren's included. Nicasi, of course, always saw everything Lysander did, and he gave Rowan a smile behind his back at the gesture of inclusion.
