Chapter 24: The Frustrated Alpha

"I just wonder why a young VOLUNTEER would let a donor close to her like that. Don't you have a little respect for yourself?" Xander said, making Tatiana pause.

Was this man earnest about being a bitch to her? This was seriously not the time for him to be playing the oh-so-righteous card, but since he wanted a bite of how Tatiana's day had been, maybe lashing out at him wasn't so bad, right?

"You don't want to teach me lessons about respecting oneself, Xander. Anyway, I have more important things than staying here and listening to you; a young WOLF who complains about a donor," Tatiana said, deciding against ranting.

Her ranting to him would mean that Xander had some effect on her, and while that was true, she just didn't have the time. She didn't want to stand there and talk about things that wouldn't ever have an impact anyway.
