Chapter 23: BROTHER AND SISTER FIGHT
"O-oh, I thought you wouldn't wake up, I'm sorry."
Celine who heard that immediately sighed and then shook her head before finally folding her arms across her chest. It seemed that the girl had started to sulk so that even David who saw it licked his lips.
Meanwhile, behind him, a man who is a friend of David's is currently smiling at the girl in front of him before he finally realized and started shaking his head.
"Never mind," said Celine. "Oh yeah, why did we come here? Didn't you say we were going home?"
David, who heard it, was silent for a moment looking at a girl in front of him, then turned his head back where Manu was busy looking at his sister before the man finally realized and looked back at him.
"Celine, I have a problem I need to solve first, so I came here before heading back to Mansion."
"Oh, I see. What about the one in your Mansion? Don't you feel sorry for her?"
"She'll understand, Celine."
"But Bro David, I don't want to keep someone waiting too long."
The man raised his eyebrows after hearing what his younger brother had just said so now David sighed.
"Yeah, I see what you mean. Don't worry, I won't be here too long."
"Okay, but you have to promise me."
"Hmm," said David, smiling, nodding his head.
There was silence again between David and Celine which made Manu clear his throat immediately. The two who were looking at each other immediately focused their attention on a man who had just distracted them.
"David, don't you know that your sister feels sore from just standing there?"
David who realized immediately turned to Celine who was currently sighing, this made the man immediately invite his sister to come inside.
"Sorry, come on in, Celine."
"Brother really …" Celine shook her head. "That brother understands me better than you do."
Hearing that made Manu immediately lower his head with a smile. The man was trying to restrain himself from being embarrassed, while David was currently scratching the back of his neck that wasn't itchy.
"What is wrong with you?"
"David."
"I'm talking to Celine, not you, Manu."
"Oh, so his name is Manu." Celine smiled as she nodded her head before finally saying, "Then, let's get acquainted with me."
David's eyes immediately widened after hearing what she just said so that now the man turned to Manu who was currently flabbergasted in surprise.
"C-can I?" Manu asked while looking at David who was currently staring at him. "David, I hope you're not mad at me anymore."
Hearing that made David roll his eyes lazily before finally, the man put his hands into his pants pockets.
While Celine who heard that immediately frowned.
"What's wrong with my brother?" the girl asked. "What is his reason for being angry with you?"
At that moment David who heard this immediately closed his eyes with some curses he gave to his friend. Meanwhile, Manu is now covering his mouth with wide eyes.
"O-oh, it's not like that, Celine. What I mean is ..." Manu felt nervous and scared at the same time seeing how David seemed to be annoyed with him right now. "Forget it, it's nothing."
Celine's eyebrows immediately rose after hearing what the person in front of her had just said so that now the girl who knew it immediately sighed.
"Celine," David called.
"What?"
"Sit down."
Manu was silent and the man gulped for a moment before finally deciding to go to the kitchen to make something for his best friend's sister.
"I've made the right decision not to bring you here, but ... well, it happened."
"What are you talking about, David?" asked Celine who had just sat down next to the man with raised eyebrows. "I heard you talking."
"No, I didn't say anything," David replied, smiling awkwardly.
"Is it possible?" Celine frowned after hearing what the person beside her just said before finally returning to say, "But I heard you said something."
"Maybe that's how you feel, Celine. I didn't say anything."
Celine immediately narrowed her eyes after hearing what the person beside her had just said.
"Is that true?" she asked with a look full of intimidation. "You're not lying, are you?"
"Why would I lie to you, huh? It's no use, Celine."
Moments later, someone Celine and David didn't realize he was gone, so now they both focused on him.
"Since when did you leave?" asked David with a furrowed brow.
"I thought you wouldn't notice I'm gone." Manu immediately put away a glass of drink that was served to a girl who was still watching him silently making the man smile and then said, "Why do you keep looking at me? I know that I am a handsome man."
"Hey!" David frowned, looking cynically at the person in front of him at this time.
One of Manu's eyebrows immediately rose upon hearing that, the man looked at his own best friend who was currently staring at him with a sneer.
"What is wrong with you?" he asked. "Is there something wrong?"
"You ---!!!"
"What?"
David's gaze at him was enough to make Manu awkward, while Celine, who saw this, immediately shook her head after knowing how her sister treated her best friend.
"Bro David, what are you doing?"
"He sucks, Celine."
"W-what?" Manu is shocked. The man was currently flabbergasted at what the person in front of him had just said. "Is that true?"
"Yeah! You're annoying, so don't try to stay close to my Lil sister."
Celine who heard that immediately frowned after what her brother just said.
"Bro David, what's wrong? He seems like a very nice person, so you can't stop him like that."
"No, you still don't know him, Celine. He's not a good person to you."
Manu just silently watched the debate between brother and sister that was in front of him at this time. The man took a deep breath before finally seeing a girl beside David speak again.
"What's wrong if I make friends with your best friend? Bro Manu, to me, he is a good person."
