Chapter 21: Chapter 16 - Chase
-Tony's POV-
"Fuuuuck!!"
*Boom*
Hello there, Tony here. You're wondering what is happening right? Well, nothing much, just running for my life. Why you are asking? Nothing much, just a lizard the size of a FUCKING CAR CHASING ME!!!
Well, let's go back a few minutes.
-3 minutes before a giant lizard started chasing me-
"Let's see"
I'm currently in a forest, I'm heading to the city of Konba on foot. As for the reason I'm not taking a carriage, it is because I wanted to have a little adventure, since I came into this world, before I got the system, I haven't been outside the town even once, and when I got the system I was only in my GMshop, so I didn't have time to enjoy this world much, so instead of using a carriage and get to the city in a day, I wanted to take my time and explore a bit.
"Hmm"
I was checking my map.
"Yep, I'm lost"
I was completely lost. I have a map, but I didn't think about one small thing, I have no idea how to read maps.
"Well, only one thing left to do"
Saying that I took something out from my system.
[Stick of the world tree]
"I'm counting on you"
I put the tip of the stick on the ground, and let it fall.
*Sound of stick hitting the ground*
"Left it is"
Saying that I put the stick back into the system and started walking to the left, and as you can guess, after walking for a bit a giant lizard came out of the woods and started chasing me.
-Present-
"Fuck you stick!!"
I still can't understand why I thought letting a stick tell me what way to go was a good idea.
*Boom*
"God damn it!!"
That lizard just crushed into a tree and made it break to piece, what is that thing's skin made of?
Looking behind me I could see the lizard getting closer and closer.
'Think, think, think, what to do?'
I'm starting to get tired from all the running, I can't run for much longer.
'Fuck'
It cornered me, in front of me there was a cliff.
"Is this the end? At least I can choose between dropping to my death and being eaten alive"
[I have an item that can help you]
"Why didn't you say that before?!"
[You didn't ask]
"…"
This system. Forget it, I can do it later.
"What item?"
[Lizard repellent. For just 99,999,999.99 it can be yours today]
"Stop with the ad and just give it to me"
[I don't think we are at that stage yet (Blushing face)]
"Just give me the item, it's getting closer"

The lizard started running towards me.
[Lizard repellent purchase complete]
[Deducted 99,999,999.99 MP]
[Item added to inventory]
"Use the lizard repellent!!"
[Do you wish to use the lizard repellent?]

It opened its mouth, it is in front of my face.
"YES!!!"
[Using item lizard repellent]

The lizard stopped just before biting me and started smelling me, after smelling me, its eyes started reddening and it started running away.
*Sigh*
Seeing the lizard running away, I let out a long breath and fell to the ground, exhausted.
"I really thought I was going to die"
After laying on the ground for a few minutes, I started getting up.
'It's not the time to rest, I need to get to a safe place before night comes or something else starts thinking that I might be delicious and start chasing me'
"System, do you have any item that can keep me safe at night?"
[There is an item]
"What is it?"
[It is a tent that keeps everything that is deemed dangerous to the owner away]
"That's a really good items, buy it"
[You don't have enough MP]
"Then why are you even telling me about it?"
[You didn't ask if you can buy it, you just asked if there is an item]
"Forget it, I will find a place by myself"
While walking in search of a safe place to pass the night, I started thinking about the chase.
Although the lizard was big and strong, it is not even a Tier-C monster, it is a very weak monster, but I couldn't do anything against it but run.
'I'm too weak'
When it just appeared, I tried attacking it, but no matter what I did, it did nothing to it, so I could only start running away. Even with my {physical burst} I'm at most at the level of a Tier-D damage dealer.
'That seems like a safe place'
I finally found a safe place, it was a cave, it wasn't big, so big monsters like that lizard can't get in, but it was big enough for me.
I started setting up everything, it was getting dark and cold, so I lit a magic campfire. Unlike a normal campfire, a magic campfire burns magic, so there is no chance of suffocation from either smoke or oxygen burning.
After everything was finished I started eating and thinking of my plans.
'Tomorrow morning, I will start heading to Konba, no more exploring and screwing around, I need to set my shop there and get stronger as fast as I can'
Completely forgetting that I have no idea in which direction Konba is, I finished eating and went to sleep.

I just finished reading the chapter and something feels off, the chapter feels very fast, I should have probably taken my time with the chase, I mostly put dialogue in the chase and not much about what is happening, maybe I should have done it with 3rd person. Anyway, Author out
