Chapter 11: Chapter １１

Aunt Serina completely felt happy after all and with deep gladness she uttered, "Such good news, let us cheers together!" She then held Elizebeth’s hand happily.

But Elizebeth just smirked at her and then hurriedly said, "I am sorry, I am in the middle of something and have to go now!" It just seems that her hankering to embarrass me quickly bounces back to her. She was then on a rush to take Haden’s check and scurried off the house.

The next few days passed quietly.

Sara was busy with her acting job too. And me, just staying now in the house. Doing nothing at home, just busily watching my tummy grow because it was my off.

And by that night, Haden came home. He instantaneously went to the place where I am. He handed me a sealed white enveloped and didn’t say anything at first. I took it and immediately check what’s inside of it. And to my surprised, it was his two debit cards. Maybe this guy knew that I’m going to reject it when I saw it immediately.

He then smiled at me and politely said, "The passwords of the cards are at the back."

I glance at the cards I am holding and then return my look towards him. I was a little surprised to his offer and didn’t really expect his actions. I then extended my hand towards him as I thoughtfully return the cards back, I gave him a smile and said, "Sorry but I can't take this."

Haden gently pushed my hand back to my chest and uttered kindly, "You're going to be my wife now. No need to be so strange. What’s mine is now also yours and you can now spend my money.

But I immediately responded back, "I can earn money by myself."

He further insisted, "For the child, please take it."

I thought about it and finally kept the cards. Haden was right; I really need money for the kid’s sake. By this time, I needed to swallow my pride.

I was then about to put the cards in my wallet when he suddenly asked, "By the way, are you going to work tomorrow?"

I nodded, but thinking how could Haden know that.

And then he broke down the silence inside the room as he exclaimed, "I talked to the company and canceled your contract with them!"

I flapped my mouth open in shock. I had worked so hard to get this offer to be an actor on a new TV show and with just sudden words I will be ending my contract to them so soon. But there was also a notice term for breach of contract if I failed to show up, also I should compensate them huge money if I failed to oblige the things I have signed up to.

It really bothers me that much but I was also curious of how he does that without even noticing me.

As I was in deep thought, Haden glanced at me as if he knows what I am thinking. He suddenly put his hand gently onto my face, with his soft fingers slowly stroking up and down to my cheek. He then further added, "Don’t worry; I have settled everything, including the compensation."

But this was not the most shocking thing he has told me tonight.

He took a step forward, with his body just an inch closer to mine. He gradually bowed and looked at me closely for a while and then place his mouth slowly to my ear, whispered and smirked,

"I'm going to ask Sara to help you pack tonight. Don’t do it alone. "

With a strange and surprised look, I curiously asked back, "Pack? For what? Where are we going?"

He then laughed softly and replied, "You don't know yet? Tomorrow you're moving in with me and will be living with me. With the pregnancy going on, I need to keep you protected."

After hearing those words, my body was suddenly covered with coldness. I was astonished. I stood there for a while and wasn’t able to move. I really got startled from what he just said. And in deep thought I ask myself, “Move and live with Haden? Was he out of his mind? What was he thinking about? I was not prepared at all”

I was about to say ‘NO’, when Haden turned his gaze over my belly,

"I am taking this baby very seriously, and I want him to be born safe with no complications at all." He said with an undeniable tone.

I pondered for a while, didn’t know what to say. I was so silent.

And my silence was snapped out by a familiar voice.

"Elena,"

I looked to the place where I suspected hearing it. From there I saw Lee.

Lee slowly walked towards me and upon reaching the place where I am standing, he immediately uttered, "Elena, I want to talk to you about something."

Haden suddenly stood in front of me, as if to hide me behind,

"She's your sister-in-law. Just ask me if you have any question. There's no need to talk to Elena. I can answer in her behalf."

Lee turned his gaze back on me and said, "You have to ask Elena’s will first before you get to decide on anything."

But he clearly averred, "No need to ask her will, I am her husband now!" Haden raised his voice as if he was about to start a fight. He looked at Lee with sharp eyes.

Lee didn’t further avouch, but gave Haden an indignant look and turned to leave.

I heaved out a sigh as I thought a while ago that they might be starting a fight in front me.

Haden turned and faced me again, as he ordered "You'll be moving to my place in half an hour. I don't want to see that happen again, and I don't want anything to happen to the kid. No ifs and no buts"

Thanks to Lee, I can't even find a small reason to retort anymore. His original plan to move to his house tomorrow was then suddenly changed to today.

"Did you hear what I said?" He asked in a commanding tone.

I nodded, "Ok, I know. I know. No need to get so worked up"

"I'll pick you up later. Be ready." He then turned his back on me and went to the living room.

Sara helped me pack up everything. I looked around the corners of my room; I have lived here for 3 years, and feeling so unwilling to leave. I feel a sense of anxiety with just the thought of moving away. I was thinking deeply of what will happen in the near future.

I was startled by a knock on the door of my room. It was Haden. He opened the door and asked, "Is everything packed?"

"It's all packed. All prepared and ready to go." Sara replied.

I carried my baggage.

Haden opened the door and rushed to me. He grabbed my suitcase out of my hand.

"Who told you to carry the suite case?! Don't move a bit! " Haden was nervous with a scolding tone, and he immediately picked me up and carefully set me aside.

He and Sara brought my entire suitcase out of the room towards where he parked his car.

As I came down the stairs with nothing at my hand, I met Lee's eyes,

"Brother, don't take today’s thing seriously." Lee told Haden. He didn’t have the nerve to harass her brother. Haden was so strong no matter what comes to him.

Haden didn't seem to hear what his brother said so he went straight down the stairs.

Lee took a deep breath and said,

"I made a mistake. Okay. I hope big brother can forgive me for my carelessness and stupidity." This time the tone was much humbler than a moment ago.

"The person you need to apologize to is your sister-in-law. Lee, and always remember to keep yourself away from her. I mean it."

Lee turned to me and looked at me with a complex look, anger, displacement, a mixture of emotions.

His face was tense for a long time, and finally he gritted his teeth, closed his eyes, and took a deep breath to apologize, "I was so emotional, I'm sorry, sister-in-law."

The word "sister-in-law" sounded really awkward.

I smiled and got in the car with Haden.

I sighed softly with mixed feelings since I would be staying with Haden starting today. I can’t think of anything other than the tiny baby inside my belly.

It was a rather tiring trip from my old room down to my so called “new home”.

The car drove all the way to Haden's mansion, which was a lot bigger than our school. The villa was filled with green trees and some landscapes. There were a number of animals such as famous birds and squirrels. A huge lake lies in the middle. Their front yard alone looked more like a park.
