Chapter 5: Chapter ５

I glanced at Sara who was giggling in amusement and in great excitement that she's feeling. She was so engrossed in the excitement of meeting Belle's cousin Smith.

They made a deal, Sara brought Haden in return for Belle bringing her cousin Smith. Belle walked up towards Haden to talk to him, but Haden walked right to me and sat down next to me.

His dark hooded eyes landed on my face and seems like he is doing an inspection, he raked along my body, like as if he sees what is underneath and lingering for a while.

I smoothed my hair using the fingers of my right hand, arranging them to their right places and thankfully the dim light covered my blush. I felt that he was looking down through inside me and it is making me feel uncomfortable.

He turned his gaze and saw a couple sitting in the corner, sweetly whispering things while touching each other. They didn't mind other people who are looking at them. Not ashamed to display their public affection with each other.

While the other decent guys sitting on the other side of the room were talking and laughing comfortably with each other cracking jokes, reminiscing their past and talking non sense. They seem to enjoy the time. An uncomfortable and disgust glare flashed from his eyes.

After staring at them all, Haden sits comfortably in front of me.

He was sitting across from my sit, Sara is sitting next to me, across Smith too.

Then Haden stared at me, with his fingers fiddling with his jaw. I looked at him attentively and stare at him in every detail of what he is now, from his neatly trimmed hair, that is brushed across the right side of his head, his pointed nose, kissable lips down to his very broad shoulders I can say that even the three-piece suit can't hide the masculinity of this very hot man.

"Well, I'm so happy today to have Smith and my brother, and my future ...." Sara choked before she released an adorable and charming expression accompanied by a loud giggle looking towards someone coming from the entrance.

Every one awed, even I myself can't help myself but blush at that thought of what she was obviously pointing out.

I looked, And I saw a girl swinging her curly body while she is coming towards us. Everyone that will see her will definitely say that the girl is obviously gorgeous in her dress plus the smile plastered in her face. She is adorable.

"Look, it is the famous film star Elizebeth." Sara said in an adoration looking at the lady who is walking proudly sexy.

She sat on Haden's chair arm, smiling sweetly and greeted everyone in the table, then she placed her hand around Haden's arms and catches his eyes for an aye to eye conversation.

"Haden, it's been a long time, how are you doing now?" Elizebeth said while still catching Haden's eyes talking to him in her very sweet tone.

Haden tilted his head to the side where the woman is sitting, looked up and catches the eyes of Elizebeth.

"Why did you come? "Haden pulled his arm back, and asked instead of answering her question. Looked at her coldly. And withdrew his eyes from looking at her.

Elizebeth's face froze, felt a little embarrassed but immediately recovered to answer, "Today is Belle's birthday, I'm actually her schoolmate, knowing that you’d be here too so I came to thank you as well. "

Elizebeth is obviously composing herself, trying to hide the embarrassment that she is feeling.

"To thank me?", Haden raised his eyebrows, with a cold eye he looked at her again confused.

"For what?" He asked again, you could see in his eyes that she is not interested to talk with her.

"My new movie, I was told that you're one of my investors," Elizebeth replied proudly, deliberately making her voice louder as if to let everyone hear her. She is proud to say that Haden is one of his investors and are trying to brag about it to everyone.

"Let me make a toast with you. I really appreciate your interest with the production." Elizebeth added again not minding the embarrassment that she put in herself few minutes ago.

However, Haden tossed his head in my direction.

"No, don’t thank me, the decision was from the manager of the film company under me, I knew nothing about it. " He replied in an emotionless tone.

Elizebeth’s hands which was holding the glass of wine retracted. Feeling ashamed of what Haden said.

Everyone was surprised that Haden, simply ignored the famous movie star in front of everyone. Learning that Haden doesn't care about how famous she is.

Elizebeth was startled and speechless for a while, then she forced herself to smile. She again hides the embarrassment that she is feeling and composed herself to speak maintaining a good poise.

"It's alright, since we're going to be engaged soon, we might as well find an opportunity to get to know each other, don't you think so, Mr. Haden?"

She answered again not minding the disgusted face of the people in the entire venue hearing their discussion.

"Don’t you think that you are being very advance on your thinking, Elizebeth?" Haden's voice was cold as ice, implicating that he is not buying Elezebeth’s issues and he wants her off him.

Elizebeth's face contorted, she totally blushed this time. Her expression shows that she couldn't stand the fact that she is facing this kind of embarrassment in front of everyone.

"All right, I have some work to do, I'm leaving first." Elizebeth walked away awkwardly. She walked with her proud look still hiding the embarrassment that she is facing, then went on walking away as if nothing happened.

As she walked away, her gaze looked back over me, making me shiver all over. I felt like her looks were blaming me as if It was my fault that she went through the kind of embarrassment. It made me feel uncomfortable. Is she going to be up for something against me?

Haden looked towards me and acted as if nothing happened.

Haden's expression turned serious as he patted the wine glass in front of me, "Are you drinking again?" he asked sternly.

"No, no." I stammered in reply, surprised to find that I was actually very nervous.

"How long do you plan to stay here?" Haden asked again , as if he wants me to go home already .

"We just came here, bro, come on," Sara said with a slice of pleading. Understanding what his brother means. With her brothers tone, she knows that, he would not let me stay in this kind of party.

"I saw you a while ago sitting and chatting with some men ... are they your friends?" Haden asked further.

"They are my friends, I plan on introducing a friend to Elena." Sara answered seriously on Haden's question.

"Introduce a friend? Who told you to find her a boyfriend?" Haden's face suddenly turned very bad, raised his eyebrows and the veins on his forehead is visibly showing.

"What ... Who? Elena has also reached the age to have a boyfriend, it is not right that you are still overprotected of her, besides you don’t do the same to me. She has the right to have one whenever she wants." Sara countered Haden. Haden took the wine glass which Smith handed him and took a sip, raised his eyes and wandered his look over me, not minding what was Sara saying.

At this time, the light is not very bright, but I could still see his dark face, his cold gaze does not display any emotion.

The atmosphere suddenly became awkward for everyone.

"The first thing you need to do is to get an idea of what kind of man you're looking for. Then tell your brother, to help you. " Smith broke the silence.

He and Haden are very good friends, Smith knows his friend very much.

I try to keep my smile natural,

"I'll have the driver take you home. " The words came from Haden, he is serious and I know that his words are hard to resist.

"We haven't been here long, and today is Belle's birthday, we just came here to celebrate," Sara protested in a low voice, she didn't want me to go home yet.

"Fine, we'll stay for a while, but we will all go later." Haden sighs in defeat.

"No drinking," Haden ordered, I nodded.

But I was surprised with his sudden change of mind.

"Elena, you should go home first, now. " Haden seriously said and made a phone call, and in few moments his driver arrived. He is very certain on sending me home, not minding his sister Sara’s pleading.

I was shock that he is being very persistent in making me go home considering that I was just here in a very short time.

Sara reluctantly pulled me away, still not giving me up and did not want to let me go home.

Sara turned and looked at Smith who held up a glass and winked at Sara, then walked briskly towards the gate.

I happened to glance at Haden, who had an angry look in his eyes. I looked away because I cannot stand his stare, on me it's making me feel uncomfortable

"Don't mind my brother," Sara comforted me. Not minding the angry face of his brother, she encouraged me to disobey his brother. Considering that she knew that I always obey his brother more than anyone else.

"He usually likes to scare people with a scowl anyway." She said again with very sure words. Making me doubt for a second and unsure of who should I follow.

Sara was confused, and her thoughts were still in amazement. She was wondering what is his brother doing and persistently ordering me to go home. Then said,

"Maybe he is just to be afraid that you're going to be played here."
