Chapter 43: Chapter 43 The crazy pope.. (pt2)
"Be careful issei, that sword is bad news!" Shouted Melty.
Before Issei could ask Melty about the sword, the pope started its attack as he swung the golden sword and a golden beam shot straight at them, but before it could harm anyone, Issei used his last strength to block the beam before falling back on the ground trying to catch his breath.
"I must say that even for a demonic dragon you are holding pretty well against god's judgement, but the time has come to end you" Said the pope as the sword glowed in golden colour and it transformed into a spear as he held it out above his head.
"What is he doing!?" Shouted Myne.
"No way" Whispered Melty.
"He just turned his sword into a spear" Said Motoyasu.
"Only one weapon can do this! it's a replica of the cardinal weapons!" Said Melty.
"But where did he get that?" Asked Kiyomi.
"Long time ago, someone tried to replicate the weapons of the four Cardinal heroes, it can change forms between each weapon and use their skills, but I was taught that it was lost long time ago" Said Melty.
"But the fact that the three heroes church kept it a secret on finding the weapon, maybe it wasn't lost in the first place!" Said Melty as she realised.
"It is powerful but it requires a tremendous amount of mana to power it, that's why he gathered a bunch of priests and nuns with him so that he could power the weapon" Said Melty.
"No wonder why you are the crowned princess you are educated well" Said the pope.
"The mana that is required for the weapon will be willingly given by the believers of God who follow him loyally today!" Said the pope.
"Offer your prayers and help me erase this demonic dragon emperor of evil from this world in the name of God!" Said the pope as the mages behind him got on their knees and started praying, seconds later golden particles came out of them straight to the weapon in the pope's hands.
"Today I definitely won't let this happen after you just used us for your own desires! as the cardinal hero I shall defeat you and avenge Itsuki and Ren!" Shouted Motoyasu as he readied his spear.
"Lighting spear!" Shouted Motoyasu and a red lightning shot straight at the pope but an invisible barrier blocked it with ease.
"The hell? a barrier?" Asked Motoyasu stunned.
"We need to cut out the mana supply somehow otherwise we won't be able to scratch him" Said Raphtalia.
Motoyasu and his party used their skills together and combined them but it still didn't work as the pope was completely fine.
"You dare to resist against god's mercy?" Asked the pope.
Motoyasu didn't listen as he continued to attack using meteor thrust skill but of course it didn't work.
"I guess it's my turn hmm?" Said the pope as he swung his spear and a powerful fire stream was shot straight at them but before it could hit anyone a beautiful white dragon blocked it.
"Kiyomi, are you alright?" Asked Raphtalia.
"Of course she's fine! she is a dragon!" Roared Issei.
Kiyomi just smirked.
"No need to worry when you have a dragon queen on your side" Said Kiyomi.
"Grr, so you have another dragon with you" Said the pope as he transformed the weapon into a bow and shot a bunch of golden arrows at them but those arrows were burned by Kiyomi's pink fire breath easily.
"Is that all you got?" Asked Kiyomi as she let out a powerful roar.
"No, everything I got right now won't affect the dragon queen, but at least I can get rid of you for a bit" Said the pope as his bow transformed back into a spear and he pointed it at Kiyomi.
Suddenly a golden glow could be seen under Kiyomi and before anyone could say or do anything a golden beam shot up from underneath her into the sky completely covering her.
"Kiyomi!" Shouted Issei.
When the beam disappeared everyone saw that the beautiful dragon was nowhere to be seen.
Issei just stared at the spot where she stood.
"Even tho it cost a lot of mages I was able to get rid of the dragon, now you won't be able to do anything because the demonic dragon emperor is completely exhausted!" Laughed the pope as he shot a weaker beam at Raphtalia but Zin blocked it off, he sacrificed his own life as he fell down.
"Zin!" Shouted Raphtalia as she picked Zin up.
She started to cry.
"Ghh you'll pay...you'll pay!!" Roared Issei out in fury.
"Hmm? how exactly? you are completely exhausted and the others have no chance of winning, so just stop resisting and let me purify you in the name of our God!" Shouted the pope.
But issei didn't listed to what the crazy man said.
"You will pay.....you will pay.....you will pay.....YOU WILL PAY!!" Roared Issei.
Suddenly issei's shield changed into the dragon's will.
He slowly started to stand up.
"I'll make you pay! for taking her away from me! for threatening me and loved ones you shall pay!" Roared Issei as the shield's gem spread the fire on the shield completely covering it, his seals were weakened by his rage a little and he regained small part of his powers back so his level rose twenty times.
Suddenly issei's strength returned and the desire for blood was enormous.
"You shall pay" Said Issei.
"Incursio balance breaker!" Roared issei.
[Welsh Tyrant balance breaker!" Roared Ddraig in fury.
Soon enough issei was in his armor and was emitting a powerful aura that was visible for everyone.
"You shall pay" Said Issei once again.
"Everyone get out of here!" Shouted Raphtalia as she started to run because she knew what was happening.
No one questioned her as they ran after her into a safe distance.
"Now cast the most powerful barriers" Said Raphtalia.
Everyone did as she said and the mages, Myne and Melty created the most powerful barrier they could.
back to Issei.

I'm the heavenly dragon king of Domination and Protection!
I shall protect my allies and innocent!
I shall avenge the fallen
And I shall dominate my enemies for the sake of the heavenly protection.
You won't stand against Tyrant's power!
And if you oppose me and my protection you shall face my wrath!
I shall sink you into infinite crimson silver purgatory!
And your allies shall fear the tyrant of protection.
[Heavenly Tyrant of Domination and Protection!] Roared both Ddraig and Issei.
Issei slowly transformed into a completely different juggernaut drive.
It was silver and red.
Four red eyes four large red wings with silver outlines, extremely sharp fangs and claws, silver long tail, red gems, four red horns, the armor seemed less bulky but with the same if not bigger defence, bunch of red spikes came out through his body, the power was way stronger than the last time he activated the juggernaut drive, the size itself was at least thirty five meters tall.
He let out a scary and powerful roar that shook the whole ground.
"W-we need to run!" Shouted one of the mages.
"No! we need to fulfill the wish of our God! even if it means death for us!" Shouted the pope.
"Now all you give me as much mana as you can and pray to our God!" Shouted the pope.
Suddenly ten times more mana was collected by the replica and it became stronger.
"Now perish!" Shouted the pope as he shot the most powerful arrow the weapon could.
As it hit Issei a bunch of dust covered Issei and the pope started to laugh.
"Hahahah finally the demonic dragon emperor of evil has accepted its judgment!" Shouted the priest.
But second later they hear what it sounded like a flap of wings.
They looked at issei's direction and saw Issei standing unscratched and angry.
[BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOST BOOOOOOST!] Roared Ddraig and the gem on his chest glowed intensely ready to release a powerful attack.
His silver red aura gathered into the gem until it lit up in Ddraig's flames.
[Tyrant annihilator!] Roared Issei and Ddraig with slightly demonic voices and a powerful silver red beam shot straight at the pope.
The pope's weapon changed into a shield but as issei's attack hit the shield, it shattered into million pieces.
"Curse you demonic dragon emperor!" Shouted the pope before he perished from existence.
More than half of the mages died due to losing too much of the mana or the by issei's powerful attack because they were too close, while the rest passed out.
Issei looked up at the sky and let out a victory roar that shook the whole land.
As he finished he looked to his side and saw Raphtalia and Melty together with Motoyasu, Myne and his party inside a barrier that shattered moments later.
Melty and the mages who held the barrier were too exhausted and passed out.
Suddenly they heard a flap of wings from above and saw a beautiful white western dragon with beautiful pink eyes landing in front off Issei.
Everyone were shocked to see her alive.
"I....I thought that I lost you" Boomed issei's powerful voice.
"Don't worry, I'm fine, I was just teleported away so that the crazy pope could kill you easier but I see that it was a big mistake" Chuckled Kiyomi as she transformed into her human form.
Issei did the same as he slowly returned to his balance breaker which shattered moments later.
He hugged Kiyomi in a tight hug.
"Don't you scare me like that again" Said Issei as he kissed her.
When they parted Issei looked at her beautiful eyes.
Suddenly his Dragon's will shield changed back into a normal one and he passed out into her hug because the effects of the shield wore off.
Dragon's will shield works similarly to Ddraig's ability called explosion, which gives the user the strength to win in a battle and turn the tables around.
As it used all of issei's remaining strength, every ounce of it to get up and use not only balance breaker but juggernaut drive to destroy the pope, it put a huge toll on his body when the effects wore off.
"Don't worry, now rest up" Said Kiyomi with a smile as she kissed his forehead.
Soon enough Raphtalia came up to her with Melty in her arms who was passed out too and Zin in Melty's arms who died saving Raphtalia.
"What now?" Asked Raphtalia.
"This battle is over! arrest the traitors!" A feminine voice was heard from behind as a bunch of knights surrounded the remaining mages that helped the pope.
Seconds later a woman came to Kiyomi and Raphtalia.
A beautiful fair-skinned woman with purple hair that was tied up in a bob with collarbone-length bangs hanging on either side, purple eyes and pale purple lipstick.
She wore silver armor with red gems, and a golden crown.
"Who are you?" Asked Kiyomi.
"I'm terribly sorry for being late, my shadows informed me of this happening and I rushed her as fast as I could. I'm the queen of Melromarc, Mirellia Q Melromarc" Introduced herself the queen.
"The queen?" Said Kiyomi.
"Yes, I came here to help the Shield hero" Said the queen.
"But I was a little too late and right now all of you need a good rest" Said Mirellia.
"Alright, where are we going?" Asked Raphtalia.
"To the royal capital but it will take some time" Said Mirellia.
"I can take you there faster but only you can come with us none of the knights nor spear heroes party or him himself" Said Kiyomi.
"Alright, but how exactly?" Asked Mirellia.
"Just watched" Answered Kiyomi with a smirk as she started to glow blinding white and transformed into a large majestic white western dragon.
"What a beautiful dragon" Said the queen amazed by her beauty.
Kiyomi lowered her wing and Raphtalia claimed up with Melty in her arms while Kiyomi used her fangs to carefully grab Issei by his collar and put him on her back.
The queen soon followed them and got on the dragons back.
"Alright, now where exactly is the royal capital?" Asked Kiyomi.
The queen told the directions and with a loud flap of her beautiful wings they took off into the air.
While they were flying they were talking together after introductions to spend the time faster.
Four and a half days later issei woke up after the battle with the pope.
He looked to his left and saw Kiyomi and Raphtalia sitting on the chairs asleep leaning into each other.
"As much as I find this cute, I wanna know what's going on.
"Well Ddraig how long this time" Asked issei as he chuckled.
"Four and a half days brother, this shield of yours really speeds up your recovery time" Said Ddraig impressed.
"So where are we now?" Asked Issei as he looked around and saw a bunch of more beds with people in it and what looked like doctors and nurses walking around their patients.
"Right now you are in the royal family's private clinic, after you passed out the queen came and did everything in her power to insure your recovery" Said Ddraig.
"Wait, the queen? she came here herself?" Asked Issei.
"Yes, just when you passed out she came with a bunch of knights that arrested the mages who helped the pope, later Kiyomi flew here with you and the queen so that they could treat you" Explained Ddraig.
"Alright I hope that this time it won't be like with the king" Said Issei with a tired sigh.
"I don't think that it will be bad" Said Ddraig.
"If you say so" Replied Issei.
Suddenly he felt an intense stare.
He looked to his left and saw Kiyomi and Raphtalia staring at him.
"You slept for almost five days again! it didn't even take that long for you to return back to bed you need to be more careful!" Scolded Raphtalia.
"But I'm glad you are alright" Said Raphtalia as she hugged him.
"I'm glad too that you are finally back with us" Said Kiyomi as she hugged him from the other side.
"Don't worry, I ain't leaving you for sure, even a crazy pope can't take me on" Said Issei with a smirk.
"Tho I'm glad that you are safe yourself" Said Issei with a smile.
"Yeah, when you used the drive again we used all of our strength just to keep up the barrier, even Melty passed out like you, but she recovered after a day of sleep" Said Raphtalia but suddenly her mood saddened.
"What's wrong?" Asked Issei.
"Zin...he sacrificed his life to save me from that powerful powerful attack" Said Raphtalia as her eyes got teary.
"Don't worry, it's alright, that means that he cared for you deeply if he did that.....I'm grateful to him" Said Issei.
He then kissed Raphtalia passionately and Kiyomi after.
They just stayed with him in bed cuddling together before someone interrupted them as suddenly two nurses came to them.
"We came to check up on the Shield hero, I dare say" Said one of the nurses.
"Wait, you aren't the nurses, you are the queen's shadows" Said Issei.
Suddenly the queen and Melty came into the room.
"I came here as soon as I heard that you awoke Shield hero" Said the queen.
"I'm glad you are alright" Said Melty.
"I'm glad that you are alright yourself" Said Issei to Melty with a smile.
"So I take it you are the queen?" Asked Issei.
"Yes my name is Mirellia Q Melromarc, and I'm the queen of Melromarc" Introduced herself the queen.
