I groaned, raising my hand to clutching my throbbing head as I came to. As I raised my hand, I heard the clinking of the heavy chains fastened against my wrists. My eyes widened, noticing all my limbs were bound. I tended, recognizing the filthy dungeon. I was back in vampire territory.
I eyed the chains, shaking them furiously in an effort to test their strength. They were rock solid. I looked around, searching for anything that I could use when a voice interrupted me.
“You should save your strength.”
I felt my fists curl at the sound of his icy voice, feeling hatred and rage start to pulsate within me as I lifted my head to look at him.
Resmer stepped out of the darkness, unlocking the prison door before stepping into the cell with me. I ran my eyes over him. I scowled at his clean attire, noticing his red handkerchief tucked into his left pocket. I made him that handkerchief when I was 6. I tore my eyes away, deciding I wasn’t going to let him rile me up.
