“My father?” I asked incredulously.
“Yes-” he started.
“If you’re lying to me, I swear-” I started to threaten.
“Just shut up and listen,” Markos snapped, cutting me off.
I opened my mouth to argue, stopping myself once I noticed the look on his face. I remained silent, letting him talk.
“Before the alliance between the werewolves and the vampires which lasted centuries, our first enemy was the humans.”
“The humans?” I asked, my eyebrows narrowing.
“Now, vampires no longer feed on humans as they used to. We can control our urges and we can survive off much smaller portions of animal blood. But centuries ago, humans were all vampires fed on. The vampires killed thousands of humans before they learned to control their blood lust, leaving a trail of blood drained bodies in their wake.
