“Hurry up,” Phebe snapped, turning around to look at me. I walked faster to catch up to them, realizing I had slowed down considerably.
She walked faster, eager to get as far from me as possible. I sped up to catch up to her.
“Hey, wait,” I called out.
“What?” She asked, exhaustion clear in her voice.
“Does this happen often?” I asked, gesturing towards Ezra whose body was lodged between Noah and Sarai.
“Why do you ask?” she said, her eyes searching mine desperately.
“Just wondering,” I said, shrugging innocently.
“Do you know something?”
“About what?” I asked, narrowing my eyes at her.
“Forget it,” she snapped, cutting the conversation short.
We walked in silence for a few paces before I spoke up again.
“So are you all Alphas?”
“How did you know that?” She asked, surprised.
