Eleonore’s POV
Talking to Claudius was easy, I came to realize, as I stood in the middle of the room facing the twins. Talking to Claudius held no connotation of this kind of betrayal that lingered in their eyes.
With them, I knew there was no way I would be able to make them see my reasoning without explaining each and every minute detail about what I had seen, without giving them information that could–probably would–put them in danger with the mere knowledge of it. They were alphas in every sense of the word; powerful, dominant, and loud in their presence.
I would have to stand my ground if I were to have them respect where I stood on this.
“Where did you go?” Rhett asked first, his hands coming up to unbutton the first one on his shirt. He moved from where he was standing to take off his watch, then his shoes, all of this he did as he held my eyes. I said nothing. I only swallowed.
