‘I think you two have ruined me for everyone else,’ I submitted bashfully.
I felt Hayden move slightly from beneath me, his chin that rested on my head turned slightly so that he could peer down on where I was splayed across on his chest. Rhett, too, looked at me from where he stood near the dresser while he had been busying himself with taking off his outdoor clothes.
“What do you mean?” Hayden’s voice was a soft rumble, tired and exhausted from the duties they had been incessantly occupied with over the past few days since we had gotten back from the lake house. I wondered what they were up to for some time, but my mind was too full to ever ask them.
‘It’s not just because of the mate bond, I don’t think,’ I began to clarify. ‘I think if I ever lost you two I would never be able to allow myself to have love for anything as much as I have love for this—us.’
