The vampires were at the compound before we had even gotten there. I could tell who the two shadows were standing outside of the gate due to the number of guards. Both in human and wolf forms were standing at the main entrance of the compound.

“Is that them?” Hayden asked as he pulled up to the driveway.

“Looks like it,” I said as we got out of the car together.

“Damn, they’re fast.” He whistled and ran up to the gate to let the two of them in. I made my way to the meeting room in the house and had one of the men working with a dusting cloth call for Claudius.

Not too long later, we were all sitting in the room discussing ways to find and retrieve Eleonore. We had recounted what had happened to Bastian to Claudius and then about us dropping Eleonore off at her home and leaving for Alethea right up until the moment Sabrina had called us, and we went to her home and found it empty.
