Eleonore’s POV
Rhett left me to my own devices as soon as he had seen me to the front door. I was already tired of the day and ready for bed, but I knew I had to get a lot more things done before I could sleep. On top of university work, I didn’t expect I could sleep much anyway.
My thoughts were too clouded by everything that had been happening lately, not just with Bastian and his promise but with my aunty as well. She had been sending me messages all throughout the day regarding my concerns, and I had tried my best to ignore them. I wasn’t sure how much longer I could put her off with the excuse that I had to think about her offer.
On one hand, I wanted to go with her, I wanted to try and find my own ways to speak again without putting Bastian at risk. But on the other hand, I didn’t want to sacrifice everything in my life for a chance that might not even work.
