Chapter 103: Separation

Ray stayed by the jeep as Rody went to fetch Samantha. He watched on as the two of them went around the back of the car and pop open the trunk. After a couple of seconds, they made their way towards the jeep, each of them carrying a bag over their shoulders which contained their clothes and other essentials. Even as he stood there, knowing full well that he and Rody would be heading off in different directions, the full weight of that reality hadn't hit him yet.

Rody reached the jeep and walked past Ray without looking at him. He reached inside the jeep through the side door and dumped both their bags onto the backseat. He then pulled back and asked Samantha to wait for him as he slowly made his way back towards Ray.
