Chapter 95: Preparation – part 3

Rody ran up to Meghan's parked car in under two minutes. Now that he didn't have anything heavy weighing him down, he moved much faster than when they initially went down to the poolside. He ran up the exit ramp with longs strides, eventually making it to the top.

Further ahead, he saw two Deathless lingering around. They hadn't seemed to have noticed him yet. Just as Rody thought that two Deathless wasn't too much of a threat, he realized that he had forgotten to bring his fire axe. He looked down at his hands in a panic, almost expecting it to magically appear out of thin air.

"Fuck…" he said and looked back up to see if the Deathless had spotted him.

Thankfully, they remained oblivious to his presence. He quickly ducked down lay and cut left towards the front of F block. Knowing that he was taking a much higher risk than he first thought, he decided to quickly collect a random pair of clothes and get back down as fast as his legs carried him.
