Chapter 96: Chapter 93: Family Reunion Episode III

(3rd Person: POV)

Throughout her life Neema-Da-Boda has made several mistakes.

Forsaking her mother and her Jedi heritage, dabbling in the dark side, running into the arms of a man who truly cared nothing for her, no matter how she believed he did.

But Neema herself will admit her biggest mistake is giving up her child.

It was a year after she married Leoste.

During that time Neema had already begun to notice her husband looking at other women.

But she thought it was her fault.

That she wasn't doing enough to keep his attention.

So Neema began doing everything she could to get Leostes' gaze focused solely on her.

But the more Neema tried to get Leoste to notice her the more he ignored her.

Thus one day she had the idea that maybe having a family could bring them closer together.

So one thing led to another and before long Neema was pregnant with Leostes' child.

Giving birth to a baby boy she gave him the name Van.

Thinking everything was finally going to turn out the way she wanted.

But Neema was wrong.

After giving birth to their son Leoste grew even more distance from Neema and never even acknowledged his son.

Leaving Neema to take care of him.

Which made her start to slowly resent her child.

Neema even once thought of getting rid of him.

But she never did.

For no matter how much time passed Neema's motherly affection for Van never deemed.

In fact it only grew strong.

So strong than when Neema sensed her son had the Force, and that members of her husband's empire were starting to look at Van with dangerous eyes, she knew her child could no longer stay on Ottethan.

Thus Neema came to the decision that she needed to get Van to safety.

So she did.

Locating a Jedi chapterhouse Neema delivered Van there and then returned to Ottethan.

For being a former Jedi herself she knew the order would take good care of her son.

Especially since she had chosen to bestow upon him the name of their famous ancestors.

Sunrider.

Neema knew the Jedi would not allow a child with such a background to be left alone to fend for himself.

She knew he would have everything he needed.

The things she could not provide for him.

Given her having touched the dark side of the Force, and having abandoned the order long ago.

Neema did not want to cause any more trouble for her son than she already had.

So she parted with him and never looked back.

Yet now here he is, the son she gave up all those years ago.

Standing in front of her.

Looking at him Neema couldn't stop herself from jumping toward him, wrapping him in a tight hug, and bursting into tears.

For it looked like the Force was giving her a second chance to try and be a mother.

Which was not a chance Neema would waste.

------------------

(Van: POV)

Before I even realized it I wrapped my arms around Neema after she tackled me and hugged me.

Feeling so many emotions my head is spinning.

Yet one thing is crystal clear.

This woman who is hugging me and crying her eyes out is my mother.

My mother.

So before I realized it I began crying as well.

The two of us then just started to silently enjoy each other's company.

Until the med bay door opened up.

When it did Neema and I broke our hug and I wiped the tears from my eyes.

Looking at Serra once I did.

"Hey, sorry to interrupt." She began.

"No, it's fine Serra." I said.

I then turned towards Neema. "Am, let me introduce you. This is Serra Keto, one of my lovers. Serra this is Neema-Da-Boda, my mother." I spoke.

Feeling strange saying the word mother.

Since I haven't called anyone that since my previous life.

It's definitely going to take some getting used to.

"No." Neema instantly denied. "I don't have the right to be called that. Not yet." She said.

Me sensing her feelings of guilt, self-loathing, and yet a small amount of hope.

I wanted to comment on it, but decided fo keep my mouth shut.

Given the hostile situation we're still in.

"So Serra, what's up?" I asked her.

"I came to let you know the remaining enemies are fleeing from their destroyed base." Serra explained.

"What, the castle is gone? How?!" Neema asked.

"HK?" I rhetorically asked.

"HK." Serra replied. "After destroying the starfighters he headed for the castle, took out its shield generators and then rained down cannon fire on it from above until nothing was left." She explained.

Me resisting the urge to sigh or facepalm.

Since I really shouldn't be suprised now by for HK's propensity for ending a conflict with excessive violence.

"Who is HK?" Neema asked.

"A very unique droid mom." I told her.

Then right after doing I sensed a strong presence in the Force nearby.

And looking at their faces Serra and Neema did to.

"Mother." Neema mused.

Letting me know my grandmother, Vima-De-Boda has finally arrived.

Looks like we get to keep this family reunion going.

-------------------

(3rd Person: POV)

Looking out ahead of her Vima-Da-Boda looked at the destroyed and flaming remains of Leoste Truyorks' castle and base from where he ruled the Ottethan Empire.

Wondering who was piloting that white ship that utterly destroyed it.

Though Vima didn't care that much.

After all she had always hated Leoste, even if it went against her Jedi teachings.

The man was always all over her daughter Neema, and yet played around with her friends.

It burned Vima up inside just thinking about it.

It also saddened her, thinking how she had failed her daughter.

Vima is not blind.

She knows her attitude pushed her daughter away from her.

'If only I had tried to be more understanding.' Vima thought.

She then quickly dismissed those thoughts, for she had a mission fo accomplish.

Rescuing her daughter.

For a while ago Vima recived a telepathic plea from Neema through the Force, begging for help.

And Vima was not about to fail her daughter again.

So as quickly as she could she hushed to Ottethan to save her.

But from the looks of things it doesn't seem like saving her daughter will be an easy task.

Considering she has no idea of the origins and affiliations of the white ship that destroyed the castle.

For all Vima knew the person flying that ship was a sociopath that wouldn't hesitate to kill her.

Vima didn't know how right she was.

Still, that wouldn't keep the aged Jedi from completing her mission.

A mission Vima knew she still had a chance to complete, for she sensed her daughter nearby through the Force.

Vima also sensed two other presences nearby in the Force.

Both of whom had the taint of the dark side.

Yet also the light side.

Vima didn't understand it but the two Force users she sensed besides her daughter almost seemed like they were looking for balance between the light and the dark.

It was strange to Vima.

Yet she could focus on that particualry matter later.

Getting ready to head out Vima stopped when several people exited the forest near the hill she was standing on.

One of them being the warlord himself, Leoste Truyork.

Who was wearing an angry expression.

Which only increased upon spotting Vima.

"Bitch, you were told never to come here again." Leoste spoke.

"I've come for my daughter!' Vima shouted in reply.

"Yeah, well you aren't getting her back. Ever." Leoste replied.

Then right when Vima was about to ask what Leoste meant the Milano flew up behind Vima and then mowed down Leoste and his men, courtesy of turret blaster fire.

All done by Van.

Even though Neema confirmed Leoste was his father.

A father Van didn't want nor need, from just a few of the things Neema told him about Leoste.

So killing the warlord was easy.

Once Van was sure Leoste and his remaining allies were dead he moved and landed the Milano.

Then after he did both he and Neema disembarked from the ship.

Coming face to face with Vima right after.

"Daughter?" Vima questioned.

"Yes, mom. It's me." Neema replied.

"Hello there." Van said to Vima.

Which made the century old woman look in his direction.

"Who are you?" Vima asked.

"Your grandson." Van replied.

Leaving Vima utterly speechless.
