Chapter 38: Brainwashed

When Su Jiaojiao got home, she couldn't get her spirits up. She went straight to her room and collapsed on her soft bed.

She stared straight at the white ceiling, thinking.

The maid knocked on the door a few times, but there was no response. She was worried and called out.

"Miss, it's time for lunch. Miss?"

Su Jiaojiao's wandering thoughts were pulled back as she responded impatiently.

"I heard you. I'll go downstairs later."

After receiving the reply, the maid left. She seemed to be used to Su Jiaojiao's spoiled attitude.

In the dining room, Wang Shenglan had already taken her seat. She noticed that the seat beside her was still empty and was a little confused, so she asked the butler.

"Where's Jiaojiao?"

The butler relayed the maid's words.

"Miss Jiaojiao said she'll be down soon."

Wang Shenglan furrowed her brows. She didn't seem satisfied with the answer, but she had no choice but to take it.
