I can’t believe I’m this nervous to walk into a place that’s mine; what the hell! I walked in the door, not knowing what to expect. All the way here, I imagined her meeting me at the door, but I could never see beyond that. What would we say to each other? Will there still be tears in her eyes? How hurt was she?

I’d promised myself to put an end to this farce as soon as I saw her; it had gone on long enough. I’m not sure what Lyon expected me to get from this, but so far, all I’d gained was misery, and I was sure she was feeling the same like someone had severed a limb. I was going to shower her with affection to make up for my crime, but she wasn’t there waiting when I walked in.

Lyon must’ve had radar because he popped up out of nowhere like a damn spook, took one look at me, and shook his head before disappearing again. I think he called me a simp just before he disappeared from view, but I’m not sure.
