Chapter 22: COME WITH ME

Except for Grandma, who was clearly perplexed, everyone was waiting for Fiona to say something.

"What is your proposal, Eric?" Grandma inquired.

"Since she needs to recover her memories, why don't you take her outside to distract her? Maybe, who knows, her memories will start coming back," Eric replied with a smile.

"I don't understand," Grandma said, her brows knitted together. She was trying to know where he was driving at.

"I invited her to Katherine's play," Eric said as he looked at Samuel. He was curious to see Samuel's reaction.

"Oh, almost forgot, Tess, gave me an invitation!" Grandma exclaimed, excitedly clapping her hands.

"A play? I suppose I must accompany you, Grandma? Samuel inquired. He was relieved that Eric had not mentioned anything about dating her. Perhaps Fiona was correct, he was pulling her legs.

"You don't have to go; I can go alone, don't worry," Grandma answered smirking. She knew Samuel had asked her to make it appear as if he didn't want to go, but she was forcing him to. She'd been watching them for a while; it appears that the two guys are tripping for her guest; she decided not to say anything because Fiona hadn't discovered her memory yet, so she wasn't going to give in to their advances.

Before getting the chairs, Samuel gritted his teeth and glared at Grandma. She always wanted him to go to these places with her. What happened to now?

"When is the play?" He questioned as he carried the chairs.

"Tomorrow," Eric quickly replied.

"Fiona dear, will you be okay with him? Don't worry, I'll be there with you," Grandma assured her while holding her hand.

Fiona gave an uneasy smile.

"I'll be fine," she answered.

"I'll be there as well," Samuel added, sipping his tea.

"But Grandma said you couldn't go with her, and I don't think..." Eric was speaking when Samuel cut him off.

"I'll be there to cheer on Katherine and keep an eye on you. For the record, I saved her and am in charge of her until she regains her memories "He continued to rant without pausing. He noticed everyone staring at him as he was done talking.

"What?" He exclaimed, then clenched his teeth in annoyance. It was just so upsetting, why would Eric act as if he had saved her or something, he knew he was being childish, but he should have been the one making those suggestions.

"Hello there!" Eric waved to Agnes, who had just walked into the dining room.

When he heard Eric's greeting, Samuel quickly turned back to face her.

"Stand up, boy, why didn't you get two seats from the kitchen?" Grandma slapped him across the shoulder.

"Oh, no, I forgot," He whined in pain and stood up to allow Agnes to sit in the chair.

As Agnes sat next to her with an uneasy expression, Grandma's frown quickly turned to a warm smile.

"How are you, sweetheart?" With a warm smile, Grandma asked.

"I I'm fine ma," Agnes stutteringly replied.

"Her head is aching Grandma," Samuel said, pulling another chair from the kitchen and seating himself next to Agnes.

"Agnes, this is my Grandma," he said, pointing to her.

"These are Eric and Fiona," he added, pointing to them.

"Nice to meet you, Miss Agnes," Eric said as he extended his hand for a handshake.

"Same here, Eric," she reached out to shake his hand.

"We met earlier," Fiona said with a forced smile.

"Yeah, we have," Agnes said, nodding.

"I'd like to thank you for repairing my son's truck; without you, he wouldn't have..."

"No, No, your grandson saved me, he was the one that helped him not the other way round ma. He's a nice guy." Agnes abruptly interrupted Grandma, and as she spoke, she smiled at Samuel.

"No, I should thank you instead; you assisted me in repairing my car," Samuel replied, nervously scratching his chin.

"Eat up, dear, I'll make you a special tea to relieve your headache," Grandma motioned with her hand and stood up to go to the kitchen.

Agnes quickly bowed and began eating. She was starving, tired, and heartbroken.

"Are you sure he's not dating her?" Eric whispered in Fiona's ear.

Fiona locked her lips together and pinched his thigh.

"Ouch, Wow, that was unexpected," Eric groaned, rubbing his thigh and frowning at her.

"Stop talking, please," Fiona begged, her eyes pleading.

Samuel tightened his lips as his hand formed a fist, his blood inside boiling and his thoughts screaming, "STOP FLIRTING WITH HER, SHE'S MINE,"

"What happened?" Agnes asked, touching his hand. She noticed a change in his expression.

"What, Nothing, eat up," he stuttered while trying to smile.

"Are you upset about your grandmother's refusal to attend the play?" She asked again. As she was entering the dining room, she overheard them conversing.

"What?" His lips were slightly parted.

Agnes chuckled uncomfortably. "I overheard, please excuse my intrusion?"

"It's nothing, I'm not upset about it; I just remembered something," he said.

Then he had an idea. He stated that he would no longer bother Fiona with his feelings, but unless Fiona expresses her feelings for him, that is, if she has any feelings for him, and this is where this idea came in, make her fall slowly.

He fixed his gaze on Agnes, who was eating; she was the ideal instrument for his plan.

"Eric, please tell Katherine that I need another invitation card," he said, smiling warmly.

Eric was perplexed, "Why?" he inquired.

"Because I'm going to the play with Agnes.

Agnes almost choked on her food and quickly said, "Water," pointing to the jar of water near Samuel.

Samuel poured water into the cup and handed it to her.

"Are you all right?" He asked as he patted her back gently with a concerned stare.

Fiona's brow furrowed as she observed them. Something disturbed her about Agnes. She wasn't sure if it was because she suspected her of being Rogers's partner or something else she didn't want to say.

"You would like me to accompany you to a play?" Agnes inquired, her face flushed with surprise.

"Yes, if you want," Samuel replied, closing his eyes slightly. He wasn't sure whether she would agree.

Agnes drank the cup of water Samuel had given her a second time. She just got out of a toxic relationship and wanted to commit suicide, but he somehow saved her and now invites her to a play she knows nothing about.

"Here's some tea for you, dear. Take a sip; it's not all that bitter "Grandma interrupted her thought as she handed her the cup.

"Thank you, ma," she said, taking the cup.

"What were you all talking about?" Grandma questioned.

"I and Agnes are going to Katherine's play as well," Samuel said.

"Oh, I see. Where are you from, Agnes? What are your plans? Sorry for the questions; I'm just curious about my grandson's friend," Grandma chuckled lightly.

"I understand ma, I am a television entertainer and I live in Eston City,"

Fear gripped Fiona as she heard her say "Eston city," and the spoon she was holding fell from her hands and landed on the floor.
