Chapter 190: Help
"Come in," Haru spoke after hearing the knock on the door.
"So you really were here, I hope you don't mind the intrusion," Cynthia said with a small smile as she walked in with 4 people following her in. it wasn't much of an issue since she asked him if before bringing them here.
'Virion, huh.' Haru thought as he looked at the old that can be described as an old man past his prime all his facial features being sharp and a gaze that could kill someone on contact. His hair is pure white and tied in the back.
He was followed by a couple, a middle-aged man. He was tall, with a muscular body, usually clad in a loose, decorated robe. His emerald eyes were slanted upward and his lips were tense and his expression, along with his short, military-style hair, gave him a dignified but somewhat reserved appearance. A crown on his head indicated that he was the king.
Virion has his eyes set on Haru the moment he walked in.
"My name is Alduin Eralith and this is my wife Merial Eralith," The man pointed at the middle-aged woman beside him, a bit past the bloom of youth but she was still a beautiful woman that will turn every head if walked down a road. A tiara can be seen encircling her forehead, indicating that she is the queen. Her eyes are round, shimmering a light blue hue, contrasting well with her lush pink lips, while her silver hair fell in curls down her back.
'He isn't even getting up from his seat, But that isn't something to think about since he saved my daughter, and above else Father isn't saying anything,' Alduin thought.
"Nice to meet you Professor, and thank you for saving my daughter," Merial said with a small smile while patting Tessia's shoulder who bowed as well.
"There is no need to thank me for this," Haru said with a smile as he guided everyone to the sofas and they all sat down with a smile.
"My Name is Virion Eralith I hope we didn't impose on you," Virion said while stroking his beard.
[You are though,] Haru heard Kurumi's displeasure and patted her head after placing her on his lap again. Cynthia, Alduin, Merial, Virion, and Tessia were looking at Kurumi with interest especially Merial and Tessia who found the small nine-tailed fox to be really cute.
"It is fine, so what happened?" Haru asked without much change in his tone.
"As this old woman said you are an interesting brat," Virion spoke with a smirk while stroking his small beard making others smile dryly. Virion was known for his direct personality and his no-filter mouth.
"Who are you calling an Old woman?" Cynthia huffed and hit Virion on the back of his head.
"Take a look in the mirror will you," Virion said while rolling his eyes.
'This kid is way too much of a monster, I can't sense anything about him even his presence is hard to locate if I don't keep my eyes on him. Why do I always meet such monstrous Brats? God do you want to kill me early or something?' Virion sighed as he felt tired.
"I see both of you are close but, Why did you come here?" Haru asked while tapping on his desk.
"Ahem* That was because I wanted to thank you for saving my precious Granddaughter and that Kid as well," Virion spoke with a slight smile.
"Yes, Professor thank you very much for your help," Tessia said gratefully.
"I see, it looks like Arthur Leywin has a really good relationship with the Elven Royal Family," Haru said making Tessia blush while her parents laughed.
"Well, he is my Future Grandson-in-law so I-OUCH that hurts little one," Virion who was talking about Arthur got his beard pulled by a blushing Tessia.
"Ahem* so it is only natural for us to say thank you," Virion said after coughing.
"You don't need to Thank me for that it was only natural, and I see you are still having a bit of trouble with that beast will," Haru said making Tessia nod as Cynthia and Virion sighed. Both of them had examined Tessia but they weren't able to pinpoint the cause of what happened. The only possible answer was that since Tessia was still in the assimilation stage something went wrong.
"I have already asked this from Director Goodsky but Professor do you think that Tessia is still in possible danger?" Alduin asked.
"Well considering how she is still having trouble using mana and what happened before, I would say yes she is in danger if something like this happens in mid-battle it is a death sentence until she fully assimilates with the beast will," Haru said plainly making the people in the room uneasy, Because what Haru said was true Tessia wasn't able to use magic in her current state, since it was possible for the same incident happening again and this made her no different from a normal person unless the problem of her Beast Will is solved. And who knows if this problem will persist even after she is fully assimilated with the beast will.
Even Tessia felt afraid at the words and since they were the truth it became even more terrifying.
"Professor, can you help my Child with this problem?" Merial suddenly asked she was very scared about something happening to Tessia. And her heart wasn't able to settle seeing that there was a possibility of something like this happening again.
Haru saw Merial's worry-filled eyes and was reminded of his own mother, She may be a bit extreme but deep down she was always worried about him in the end.
'Maybe this is what being a parent is like,' Haru thought and looked at Merial.
"If you are not against it then I can help a little," Haru said making Merial smile just by hearing his voice. She didn't know why but she felt he would really be able to help.
"Thank you, Professor, please help her," Merial said with a smile and Haru smiled back making the older woman's heart race and making her cough to calm herself down.
'What about my opinion? She is my daughter as well, and why does the atmosphere feel weird?' Alduin had his eyes twitching seeing his wife's reaction.
"Then Princess Eralith....try to use your mana," Haru said as mid-sentence he vanished from his position and appeared behind Tessia placing the palm of his hand on her back.
'When did he?' Virion was shocked as he felt all of the hair on his body stand. He wasn't even able to follow how Haru reached behind Tessia when he was sitting in front of them just now.
'This kid is monstrous indeed, If it wasn't for Zenobia and Cynthia vouching for him I might even take him as the enemy from the other continent,' Virion sighed as he was a bit glad about not having Haru as an enemy, He was a bit suspicious considering how he came out of nowhere but with Zenobia and Cynthia vouching for him made Virion accept that Haru wasn't an enemy.
'That kid is a better judge of character than me anyway and I can trust my old friend on this as well,' Virion thought and sighed again bringing Alduin's attention to him.
Tessia looked at Cynthia as if asking for approval since she was told not to use Mana till her Beast will is assimilated.
Seeing this Cynthia nodded and everyone stared on but didn't utter a word.
Tessia closed her eyes and used her mana to form a defensive spell around her but.
"Argh!" Tessia winched as she felt something grab at her mana core.
"Tess!" Merial said worried and was about to stand up but was stopped by Alduin.
FWOOSH* DOOOOOOOOOM*
And then the room shook making everyone in the room feel dread.
'What is this kid?' Virion was sweating as he felt the pressure come out of Haru it was only for a second but he was able to feel it.
In front of that pressure, he felt helpless and fear gripped his body, if he was hit with that pressure head on he would surely crumble down and that was the crazy part since it wasn't directed at him at all.
Everyone in the room was a bit shaken by the sudden release of the pressure Merial even had difficulty in breathing as she gasped.
"Ok now try again," Haru said to the dazed Tessia who used mana to make a defensive barrier around her but this time she didn't feel anything happen to her core.
"I can use it without feeling any pain like before," Tessia said in amazement as she made a small wind ball in her hand.
Cynthia sighed in relief since she wasn't able to find a way other than letting Tessia completely assimilate with her beast will. But that would take time and leave her vulnerable for the time being.
And Cynthia knew better than anyone how dangerous this place was with spies running around, she thought that at least she can keep Tessia safe at the academy but this was even better.
Everyone was waiting for Haru to confirm whether the problem is solved or not.
