Hospital.
Mother, grandfather, and sister come to visit Henry Russell.
"Charlotte, look at you, you've lost weight. Taking care of Henry is essential, but you can't treat your body this way. If Henry wakes up and you fall down, that's no good." Mother Russell looks at Charlotte Cooper's increasingly thin body, her eyes full of concern.
Charlotte's face is pale, her lips are bloodless, and her eyes are full of bloodshot veins.
"Mom, I'm fine, don't worry. I can take care of myself." Charlotte manages a smile more pitiful than crying. Mother Russell wants to say something more but simply sighs in the end.
"Sister-in-law, you should eat more. You look so pale as if something is wrong. When my brother wakes up and sees you like this, I'm afraid he will worry again," says her sister-in-law beside her.
Charlotte doesn't say anything.
Grandfather Russell pats Charlotte's shoulder and doesn't say anything either. After a while, the three of them leave.
