Mafia / 1.4 : Nightmares

"I'm innocent."

Yixin sat up and turned on the bedside lamp. He looked at Atlas struggling like always. Every night it's the same, he has nightmares where he claims his innocence and sometimes cries. Then he wakes up gasping for air and the next day he doesn't speak about it so Yixin doesn't either.

"Please believe me."

The desperation in Atlas' voice was palpable, it was like his life depended on it.

Yixin shook him lightly.

"Wake up."

Atlas didn't wake up and he started to sob. He shook him harder and Atlas woke up startled. He gasped heavily trying to get his breath back. Yixin pulled him in his arms and caressed his back.

"It's alright it was just a nightmare."

Atlas closed his eyes and took a few deep breaths.
