Chapter 2: Love Confession
High school typically comprises grades 9 through 12, attended after primary school or middle school. That's the literal meaning of the word, but if it uses another means, then it's a time when many youth or teenagers have a fulfilling life through those three years. Some describe it as when teenagers find their love, thinking about future goals ahead, or anything else. But the most used description is the one regarding love.
Many high school students tried to find their soulmate, their love interest. It's a season or precisely time where the youth was flourishing! But romantic topics are usually popular around young women or girls who strife for their soulmate, their future boyfriend-to-be. Because a woman always feels almost everything with an emotional and romantic topic is one of the best things to bring that emotional side and effect.
Being tied together with that is Spring season, usually indicated as the season of youth and love by many, especially by Japanese and the high school students in that country. It's a perfect season to start everything anew, including finding any potential boyfriend or girlfriend. That thing also wasn't ignored in Otonokizaka High School, a school that only consists of young girls and is located between Tokyo's Akihabara, Kanda, and Jinbouchou neighborhoods. A traditional school with a long history dating back to 1896, it used to be the top school in the neighborhood with an eminent name, so well-known that even other prefectures were aware of it.
And there is one of the students, currently confessing her love to another girl who looked like the same age. The confessed student was confused when she saw the girl declaring her romantic feeling to herself right now. That girl who gets a confession is a young girl with a cute, cheerful face and short orange hair with a side ponytail and red eyes. Her name is Todokami Ayaka.
"A-Ayaka-san, I… I love you ever since; please go out with me!"
She said it with a bold voice and word directed to Ayaka. That girl with short brown hair and purple eyes, doing that despite her reddened cheeks. She looked adorable yet sexy at the same time with her slim figure. Her name is Koizumi Hanayo, and she is currently confessing her love to Todokami Ayaka.
Both of them remained silent, especially for Ayaka, since she is utterly confused at this. They may be the same age and in the same year, but their class is different, so the orange-haired girl was confused about why someone from another class was saying that. Ayaka didn't remember to do something that made herself famous since all she did was considered normal.
'She is… Koizumi-san, is it? I know many people because of the club activities and several part-time jobs, but… to think a shy and quiet girl like her does a bold thing like this. She's cute and makes me want to protect her. I also have a bit of attraction, but I don't know if I have to accept or reject it because my situation is complicated.'
Ayaka shook her head and took a deep breath to calm herself before asking Hanayo.
"Koizumi-san, is it…? This is quite a sudden, but can I ask you… why do you love me? What did I do to make you fall in love with me?"
Hanayo's lips curled into a smile; she closed her eyes, held one hand to her chest as if trying to remember something, and replied to her love interest's questions with a kind and honest answer.
"There are many things. One of them was when I was about to take the entrance test for this school. At that time, Rin-chan left me alone and caused me, who were shy and couldn't do anything because of my shyness to be lost. When I'm panicked and didn't know where to find the room for the test, a girl the same age as me kind enough to show me the way. I know many would do the same, but… that time, your smile and kindness, makes me curious and slightly attracted."
Hanayo recalls her memories back then when she first meet Ayaka. It's one of the memories she treasured and fondest. The orange-haired girl then began to remember it too. When she was also about to do the entrance test, she wandered around to find her own test room but accidentally met with a shy and meek girl wearing glasses with short brown hair.
Then, Hanayo continues to told Ayaka.
"After that, I heard some rumors and things about you. None of those are bad, only good ones. There was also one time when I had to carry some things that a teacher assigned me, but with how heavy it is, I couldn't have all that, and Rin-chan is also busy with some clubs she has joined because of how athletic she is, and everyone also needs her help. I don't know if it's coincidence or not, but Ayaka-san, you came to help me again by taking the most of the paper by yourself."
The brown-haired girl said with her kind and fond smile slightly widened. Her feeling towards Ayaka slightly increased, making her love the orange-haired girl even more. Hanayo's heart also fluttered in happiness.
'I see… so Koizumi-san really loves me from the bottom of her heart, huh. If she really means that, I think it's okay for me to accept her.'
Clenching her fists, lifted up her head and looked straight at Ayaka; the girl named Hanayo then exhaled a deep breath and declared once again to her love interest.
"I love you, Ayaka-san! I don't know if you accept it or not, but I… I just want to say this. I love you; I want to be with you, being side by side, holding hands together with you."
"Even though I… I want to seek a polygamy relationship? Even if I want to have multiple girlfriends? Not only you…?"
"As long as I'm with you and you love me equally, I'm okay with it. That's why, Ayaka-san, please go out with me."
