Chapter 111: Fireflies and promises

Pepper watched as her husband went from mildly amusing to oddly about to expire because of a firefly. She took pity and decided to help him but only after she took a couple of pictures. She drove the adorable firefly away.

When she came back from driving the firefly away, Asher's eyes were still very tightly closed.

"You can open your eyes, crybaby" 

But he didn't even attempt to do it, instead he covered his face with his palms.

"Ash, we really need to go. The storm is coming. Open your eyes" She laughed heartily and told him yet Asher shook his head.

"You are trying to trick me. You are very mean" Asher answered.

Pepper looked around. The next dozen fireflies were a few seconds away and the storm was going to reach them very soon. She didn't have the time to hold his hand and frankly, she was enjoying his pain.
