Chapter 97: Void Contract

Mariela's POV

"Five Million Dollars! How did you manage to earn this amount, Mariela? I know you didn't earn that much, and your income will never be enough." Carlos asked as he looked at the check on his hands. He didn't even invite me to get inside his house, and he raised his head and looked at me.

I know he will never entertain me; I am just glad I asked Andrea's help, and I felt so touched that Archer's sister talked with me as if I hadn't done something terrible to her brother. She was excited to know I was on my way to their mansion, and she advised the guard to let me in, and one of their household staff allowed me to come near the front porch.

I told Andrea I wanted to meet her since I was in Minglapolis, and I didn't tell her my primary purpose in coming to their beautiful house was to meet her father, who was still looking at me with suspicion, and I could see the doubtful look on his face.
