Chapter 74: Mortal Enemy

Mariela's POV

I walked away from Archer, but I knew I could never run away from him tonight because I needed to stay and be with Jerry.

"Ella, dessert is served. Do you want some?" Jerry asked, and I wanted to tell him, no, but when out of the corner of my eye, I saw Archer walking towards the long table, I nodded my head, and I smiled at Jerry sweetly.

"Thank you," I said as he handed me the dessert plate, and I did my best to smile at him seductively; and I know it gave Jerry the wrong signal, but I don't want to speak with Archer ever again.

"So, are you two dating?" Kent asked, and I almost gagged when I heard his question; I am so thankful I was eating a cake, or else it would be hard on my part to answer him, and I felt glad that Jerry saved me.
