Chapter 28: 28: Gift for love rival

On Saturday afternoon, Kevin takes Yuki out to buy something for April.

-Flashback (two days ago)-

"Baby, this Saturday, accompany me to buy something for April," Kevin suddenly said.

Yuki's body turns rigid. He turns to face Kevin with a solemn expression. Kevin instantly knows that Yuki had misunderstood him.

"Hey. It's not what you're thinking. It was nothing. Actually, every year she will hold a birthday party. When my parents are still alive, they will bring me to the party. Even after my parents were gone, the Stewart couple always asked me to keep attending the birthday party. But starting a few years ago, I just came to give her a gift, out of courtesy. No other meaning, okay?"

"Then, this year you will still attend the party?"

Kevin smiles and shakes his head. "Nope. I'll buy something for her then I will ask Raiden to pass it as he will be there with Mika."

The gloomy expression just now immediately faded. Yuki heaves a sigh of relief.

-End of flashback-

And so, today Kevin brought Yuki along so he can help him choose something for the birthday girl. Before this, he will ask either his secretary or Ellis to buy it for him. It's not like he doesn't know what to buy but he doesn't want to waste time minding her gift. It isn't worth his time.

Kevin purposely asked Yuki to choose the gift for April. He can't wait to see April's reaction when she receives a gift that was chosen by his lover. Thus, Kevin takes Yuki to the high-end mall. As the gift is for a famous model, he can't simply buy her cheap stuff. Plus, he needs to show off his wealth.

Yuki wears an outfit that hides his true appearance. Wearing a wig to hide his long hair and a bucket hat on top of the wig. He also wears glasses to give a slightly different vibe. Only someone who really knows Yuki will notice him but for others, they won't know Yuki is the same person as the person that used to be viral before.

Walking hand-in-hand into the mall, the couple is attracting a lot of attention. A Godly male and white lotus young man, what a perfect combination! On their tails, Sam and Lucas gave a deathly glare to anyone who dared to raise their phone and snap a picture.

For those who knew Tsujihara Kevin, they weren't surprised by the fact that Kevin is hanging with another different person this time. But what surprised them is the way Tsujihara Kevin treated the person with him. It is full of TLC.

[TLC: tender, loving, care]

Unlike with his previous companion where he looked unbothered, with this young man Kevin clasped their fingers and always pulled the young man to stay close to him all the time. And more importantly, the charming smile whenever he talked with the young man. What a killer smile!

Even though some of the passersby tried to take a picture of them, since they are in a high-end mall visited by rich people, they know how to respect their privacy and don't surround them.

Kevin takes Yuki into the Hermès store. Yuki was asked to look around and just choose whatever he thinks will suit that woman. Meanwhile, Kevin walks to the men's perfume section. The store employee kindly asks him, "Yes Mr. Tsujihara, may I help you? What kind of perfume are you looking for?"

Kevin hums for a moment before saying, "I want something soft and sweet. Not too strong but not too feminine. Something that might suit him," Kevin points at Yuki who is still blinded and speechless by the zeros on the price tag.

The female employee immediately understood. She picks a special design bottle from the rack on her right side. She shows it to Kevin, "This is VOYAGE D'HERMÈS. This is a unisex perfume. It smells like fresh greenery with a mix of lemon, green tea, cardamom and the florally hedione. The trail leaves you with a feeling of freshness thanks to the white woods which contrast with the warmth of the musky scent. It is a fragrance of contrast where nature is combined to the pure softness of femininity."

Kevin sprays it a little bit on his wrist and takes a sniff on it. He likes how the perfume gives off a sweetness but is also a little bit sensual. "I'll take this," Kevin says to the female employee before returning to Yuki's side.

Kevin wraps his hand around Yuki's waist, startling him. "Have you decided?"

Yuki is holding two handbags, "I don't know which one is better." Kevin doesn't know what to feel. He sighs and chuckles. His little lover cares so much about the gift for another person and that person is chasing after his boyfriend. Shouldn't he pick the worst, not which one is better?

Yuki turns to him and pouts, "Your thought?" He shows the two handbags to Kevin. Kevin looks at Yuki who is staring at him and waiting for his answer seriously. Kevin just grabs the handbag on Yuki's left hand and gives it to the store employee, "We'll take this."

Then he takes the handbag on Yuki's right hand and gives it to the other employee so she could place it back on the rack. He went to the counter and pay for both items then left the store. Yuki noticed that Kevin's mood is not good. He clasped their fingers tighter and clings to Kevin's arm.

"Kevin, are you...mad?" He asks timidly. The last thing he wants is to see Kevin getting angry at him.

"You think?" Kevin replied coldly. He didn't even turn to look at Yuki.

"I'm sorry. I- I didn't know what I did. Can you please tell me? I'm really sorry. I never meant to make you angry. So, please...tell me. What did I do wrong?"

Listening to the pleading soft voice, how can Kevin stay mad at his boyfriend? He sighs. But still, he didn't say anything until they were alone in the car. Yuki is about to wear the seatbelt but he yelps as he is suddenly lifted and put on Kevin's lap. Their faces are just a few inches away and it makes Yuki's heart beat hard.

"Baby, did you remember who the gift is for?" Kevin asks as he takes off Yuki's bucket hat and throws it to the co-pilot seat.

"A- April?"

"Do you know who she is? And what does she want from me?"

Yuki hung his head low, biting his lips. He knows. Know very well that April loves and wants his boyfriend. Yuki slowly bobs his head.

"Then, why would you care so much about the gift? Shouldn't you pick something that is not so good instead of the best? You cared too much for your supposed-to-be enemy."

Clenching on Kevin's shirt, Yuki leans his head on Kevin's clavicle. "But, if I choose something ugly, other people will look down on you and I can't let it happen."

Kevin chuckles. He pinches Yuki's chin, lifts his face and pecks on his lips. "Baby, once they see the brand on the paper bag, they won't say anything else. The price of the handbag is enough to shut their mouths."

Yuki hums and snuggles closer. Ignoring the fact they are in a parking lot, the couple continues to cuddle intimately. "Remember, no need to pay attention to anyone other than me. You can be kind but please prioritize me. Understand?"

Yuki nods and mumbles, "Sorry."

They return home after dining at a hotel restaurant. Kevin dropped by Raiden's house, asking him to pass the gift to April.

At first, Mika, who was eavesdropping on their conversation, rejected his request. Mika asked him to go to the party and meet April on his own. He doesn't want to be dragged into their problems.

However, Mika was shocked when Kevin practically pleaded to him to do this favor as he can't bring Yuki and exposed him to the public. At the same time, he also can't hurt Yuki by leaving him behind and going to the party. Kevin knows so well how insecure Yuki feels towards their relationship and he doesn't want to add more doubts.

Thus, in the end, Mika agreed. But he asked Kevin not to make him or his husband, Raiden, to be the middle person between him and April. Because Mika kinda hates her.

Kevin thanked him and promised to give him and Raiden a holiday package to any place that he wants. So, they reached a mutual agreement.

At night, the couple enjoying the night breeze in the garden then continue to cuddle on the balcony. Kevin went inside for a moment then returned with a small bag. "Here, for you."

Yuki blinks his eyes repeatedly. He noticed it was from the same store as they went. Taking the bag from Kevin's hand, Yuki takes out the small box. He opens the box and his eyes widen when he sees the perfume bottle.

"For me?"

"Hm-hmm" Kevin takes the perfume, removes the lid, and sprays it on Yuki's wrist and neck. The sweet scent spreads out. Kevin puts his nose on Yuki's neck and sniffs on it. "Smells so good. It suits you."

The hot breath tickles him causing a hue of red tint to form on Yuki's cheeks. He tried to avoid the breath from hitting his sensitive neck but as he tried to turn his head, his lips brushed against Kevin's.

Both of them were a little bit surprised but it takes no time for Kevin to make the kiss deeper and longer. He grabs Yuki's nape and arches his head. Kevin invades the small mouth with his tongue and licks every part of it. The steamy kiss went for about half an hour before Kevin finally let his panting boyfriend go. Yuki leaned on Kevin's chest, calming his erratic breath. He feels that his lover is stroking his back weirdly.

Yuki lifts his head and sees that Kevin is in a daze. He gently taps on the hard pectoral pecs, "Kevin? What's wrong?"

Kevin slightly flinches but he covers it with a faint smile. "Nothing, baby." He pulls Yuki's head onto his chest again. But the latter is stubborn and looks up again. "It can't be nothing. Tell me. You always say no secrets between us, right?"

Kevin chews inside his mouth. He wants to say it but he is afraid that the answer to his question is not as he expected. He props Yuki up and both of them sit straight. Kevin cupped both of Yuki's cheeks and took a deep breath. "Baby...d- do you want to marry me?"

Yuki's eyes bulged. He keeps staring at the pleading eyes before him without saying anything. He wants it. He really wants it. But a part of him wonders, does Kevin think he is the one for him? What if one day Kevin decided to leave him or he found someone else that he loves more? Yuki doesn't think he could accept that kind of news.

Kevin kept waiting patiently and a minute passed with Yuki staying silent. He is about to remove his hand but Yuki grabs it instead. "A- Are you sure... you want to marry me? You want to live forever wi- with me?"

Kevin's corner lips curved. "Yes, baby. I want to spend my whole life with you. You're the only one in my heart and nothing can change that."

Yuki's heart goes badump! He always wants to have a family. Since he was taken by his uncle, Yuki has lost hope for happiness in his life. But now, the chance to have it appear, he can't let it go.

"Then... let's get married." Yuki lowers his head hiding his blush.

Kevin's lashes tremble. His hands slightly shaking, his breath getting heavier. "Re- really, baby? You will marry me?"

Yuki nods vigorously. Then, he was pulled into a tight hug. "Thank you, baby. Thank you so much. I love you. I promise I will cherish, love and take good care of you in your whole life. I love you." Kevin muffles Yuki's neck.

Yuki returns the hug and sways their bodies, "You better be."

Kevin carries Yuki inside and gently puts him on the bed. He can't take his eyes off of him, causing Yuki to be shy. "Why do you keep staring at me?"

"I'm just... so happy. I can't believe you will truly be mine soon." Yuki rolls his eyes but still, he was so happy when Kevin said that.

"I'm always yours."

The couple continues to snuggle on the bed. No steamy kiss, no sex, but it feels contented with just feeling each other's warmth.

"Kevin..."

"Yes, baby?"

"W- When..." Somehow Yuki can't spit out the word marriage. He feels so embarrassed to say it out loud. But Kevin knows what he wanted to ask.

"We will register our marriage after you got your high school diploma, okay? Up to me, I want to do it as soon as possible but I think you might want to focus on your study first." Yuki nods, understanding. He also thinks that's the best option. Plus, it is just another few months away.

"But baby... I'm sorry. We can only register our marriage first. As for the wedding, we will do it after everything has calmed down and you no longer have to hide from Kenji, okay?"

Yuki chuckles and slides his body up to peck on Kevin's lips. "I don't mind. Even if we don't have the wedding, it's fine. The most important thing is registration. As for other things, we do it if we can. If not, I don't mind."

This is why Yuki is different from others. He doesn't need to flaunt to others that he is marrying Tsujihara Kevin. He wants the person, not his money, assets or power.

Kevin leans down and covers the soft pink lips with his. "My baby is the best. But don't worry, by hook or by crook, we will do the wedding because I want the world to know Hamada Yuki belongs to Tsujihara Kevin. Oh! Soon, it will be, Tsujihara Yuki." Kevin whispers the name near Yuki's earlobe.

Yuki smiles, "I like that name."
