Chapter 57: 55: Reappearance?!

A raven-haired teenager looked at a muscular blonde man in anger. A barren wasteland surrounded them with several injured people wearing some kind of weird outfits.
"How could you do that?!" the teen shouted, his face containing unimaginable fury.
"As I said, I had no choice!" the adult retorted, his hair and eyes glowing a gold luster.
The blonde man vanished in a blur, appearing in front of the teen with his fist drawn back. As his fist shot forward, everything turned black for the raven-haired teen.

In a rather sizeable bed, a young man jolted up.
"What the f*ck?" he said with a sigh.
"Whew, haven't had a dream like that in a while... That was a wild dream..." he trailed off, before shouting, "I already forgot it?!! What kind of- Sigh. Damn brain."
After calming himself down, he decided to shower and have breakfast. Outside, the sun has yet to show up, meaning it was still very early in the morning.
Shinji could have woken up later, but he chose not to since he wants to go to a certain Academy to pick her little sister up.
Their semester ended earlier than normal, but if he remembers correctly, it's all because of the damage Kayden Break caused to the school. A chuckle left his mouth as he thought, 'What a fitting name.'
Saying goodbye to his bird partner, he headed for the docks. There, he saw a speedboat, all prepared for him by the Union.
The young man subconsciously shuddered, remembering his cause of death. But, he shrugged it off with a grin, saying,
"I'll freeze the whole damn ocean if I have to."
Moving on...
The Korean Awakened Academy's location was supposed to be unknown to outsiders, but Shinji got the location from his beloved Jiyoung. Thinking about her, a giddy smile appeared on his face.
The two of them had finally moved on to the 0th base; the face. On their fourth date, Jiyoung kissed him on the cheeks. Even though it was a couple of weeks ago, he still remembered it like it was yesterday.
"'Slow and steady pace brings you happiness.' Originally, I thought that Thorne was pulling something from his ass, but admittedly, that quote has some merit. I wonder what his progress is with that redhead?" he pondered.

A few hours of boating later, he could finally spot the island.
Arriving on the island, he was met with a lot of students boarding different ferries. Some students stared at the teen as he got off his speedboat.
"Ah! Is it him?" whispered a girl to another.
"I think it is!"
But, a messy brown-haired teen's head perked up, the flying squirrel on his head doing the same. "Huh...? That's..!"
Shinji turned his head in interest when he heard an overjoyed voice shout, "Shinji Lee!!!"
He saw the brown-haired student rushing toward him, the squirrel now standing on his shoulder.
"It's me!" the brown-haired followed.
The raven-haired teen looked confused, trying to scour his mind for something about the person standing in front of him. One thing matched significantly. A dirt-covered boy with a rat sat on his shoulder.
"Yongsun?..." Shinji voiced out, thinking, 'That dumpster kid back then...'
[A/N: For those curious, Yongsun appeared in Chapter 8 :).]
"You remember! It's been so long..." Yongsun told him with a happy smile.
"It has been a long time. How've you been? Are you part of Mir or something?" the raven-haired teen replied.
"Yep!"
Noticing a squirrel curiously peeking over the brown-haired teen's shoulder, he asked, "Is that your partner?"
"Oh, yeah! Meet Squigi," he replied in a happy tone.
They continued to talk for a few more minutes. Shinji learned that his previous partner passed shortly after he met him. It was quite a sad time for Yongsun, but that was when Mir introduced Squigi to him. They've been together ever since.
Yongsun actually tried to converse with Subin Lee at the start of the Academy, but as Shinji expected, he just received a rude response. Her companions were kinder than she was though, the brown-haired teen thought shyly.
Sadly, they had to stop their conversation when Mir had to call back the Mir Students into their ferry.
They said their goodbyes, and then Shinji explored the facility, looking for Seongha and Subin.
He admitted that while Korea's Awakened Academy was notably smaller than WAA, it was more homely and cozy. Don't get him wrong, the World's Awakened Academy is great, but it just seems too unwelcoming.
A chortle left his mouth, thinking, 'What's up with me today? I don't normally think about things like these.'
The raven-haired teen's thoughts were cut off, halting his steps. He saw a saddened Jiwoo go inside the building and a well-groomed old man looking at the student with pity and sympathy.
'Seongik Han... Tch.'
Shinji tried going back his way to avoid talking to the old man, but when Jiwoo was out of sight, he voiced out with a smile, "Shinji Lee, what brings you here?"
"Tch, you caught me." the raven-haired teen said, facing the KAA's Principal.
"Are you here for your sister? Or to enroll, perhaps?"
Shinji sighed, "I said it once on my 15th birthday, and I'll say it once again. I ain't enrolling at your school, old man."
"Well, that is a shame. I won't pester you anymore about it, but know that this Academy is always willing to accept you." Seongik told him with a smile.

I'm sorry for the extremely long delay, folks.
School is starting next week, and I've had a hectic past few days preparing myself. Summer break went by in a friggin' blur. Damn. It's a pretty sudden transition from Online Classes to Face-to-Face.
Anywho, I'll upload when I can.
P.S: I still ain't ready for school. ;-;
