Chapter 33: Tarantino meets Samuel L. Jackson
Early morning the next day, Alex set having breakfast with his uncle, aunt and two cousins. They were all seated together around the dinning table chatting. Helena's belly is now fully prominent she being in her final trimester of pregnancy.
Alexander was seated next to Vanessa as they talked about her favorite cartoons and the friends she recently made. She would also occasionally makes fun of Alex, use of grammar during their conversations correcting him from time to time.
Unlike his father and older brother Duke, Alex and his two older sister didn't have a deep British accent. Beside a few words and pronunciation here, and there they mostly spoke using American terms.
The three could be said to have a barely noticeable British accent. Alex found it funny how, Vanessa tries hard at any opportunity to correct him on his pronunciation of certain words.
Helena at first tried to lecture her for it, but Alex wasn't too bothered by her little actions and decided to go along with her little game. He would even try putting on a more distinct British accent for show, during their conversations.
Thanks to the Apuls helmet, Alex could basically understand every language that had been stored inside the helmet. However, that didn't mean he could fully speak every language that's in his head.
For example, if someone were to speak to him in German or French he could understand what they were saying.
The thing is that he wouldn't be able to properly reply or answer back in the conversation, since he wouldn't be able to properly pronunce certain words correctly.
So Alex could theoretical understand most languages however, without proper practice he wouldn't be able to speak most of them with difficult dialect. But, he could basically understanding nearly every language which was a huge advantage.
Alex had also made it a point to also, practice during his spare time to try and learned to speak a few languages. He has been practicing to speak Spanish and German most of the.
Which weren't too difficult for him since he had already had a complete dictionary of these languages in his head.
Every one spoke fervently about different topics, briefly speaking about their own work and how it was going. "So Alex, are you excited to go back home to visit?" Asked Helena looking at Alex who had been talking and having fun with her daughter.
" Wait, are you leaving us already Alex? Daddy didn't you and mummy say that would be staying with us longer right? "
Asked Vanessa surprised by her mother's words. Looking back and forth between her parents and Alex.
Alex smiled and gently pitched her cheek while answering her doubts. " I'm only visiting for a day and spending time with my family, don't worry your coming with me as well."
Helena nodded to Alex words and add; " Yes, sorry it seemed we forgot to tell you about it. All of us will be visiting your aunty and uncle's place to this Saturday."
" Ahh.. I'm going to see Duke again." Said Vanessa excitedly looking at her mother and father excitedly. Alex looked at Vanessa with a rye smile on his face as his little cousin, currently had developed a bit of crash on his older brother.
Thankfully it had quickly faded after a while, as she had developed another crash quickly on Leonardo De Caprio. After, seeing him on a television commercial, reason being Duke's personal was a little too domineering. Which was a little scary for little girls like Vanessa.
Alex had suggested that they all have a family gathering together with everyone. At least a few times in a month were they could all spend time together and forget about work. The biggest problem with running huge business for most wealthy people.
Is the separation of family ties can happen overtime, Alex was a little worried that they would all become distant with one another. If they all focus too much on there work especially, since they all currently now in a working business relationship now.
The good thing was that they were all currently already dissociated with most of their other relatives, except for Helena's and Harry's other relatives. They might someday reconnect with other distant relatives as they continued growing their businesses and reputation.
Even if it just had something to do with their future wealth, Alex didn't think they should outright distance themselves over past aggressiveness. However, his father and uncle would most likely never be able to completely reconcile with their paternal family.
From the story his been told by his father and uncle they wouldn't be able to forgive and forget either. After breakfast the three men left the room with Vanessa and Helena waving them good bye. As they were leaving the apartment and entering into their respective vehicles.
Alex noticed a few teenagers, over hearing there conversations as they walked by him. " I'm telling you man I bite the game in under one hour. " Said the tall brown hair teenager dressed all black clothing.
" Bullsh*t, I've seen on online website speed time record, the fastest time 40 hours and 20 minutes. " Retorted the short one of the two dressed similar as the two.
" It's, not my fault the internet connection where I live is unreliable." He explained myself blaming his internet connection.
Alex who had heard the conversation as the two passed by him. A smile appeared on his face as he unintentionally over heard the two's conversation.
The website had a record time keeper that would display the time it took someone clear the whole game. Which if you clicked on the players user name on the Blue Star Interactive website.
Show the clearance time it took them to clear each level, as well as the total hours spent on the game. This helped built a community around the game as well as, building a dedicated fan base for their game studio.
Meanwhile, on a subway train station, a tall, thin dark skinned man with short black hair along with uncampt mustache. Standing straight reading a sheet of paper, most people on the train didn't care or notice the man.
However, if Alex was here he would immediately recognize the person as Samuel L. Jackson. Who in the previous timeline became the highest grossing actor of the twenty first century.
Currently reading a manuscript which he was going to audition for, after reaching the final stage of the audition. Currently Samuel L. Jackson was an unknown actor at this time. Only appeared in minor roles in films, such as Rangtime 1981, Eddie Murphy Raw 1987. He is also set to appear in Coming to America that is yet to be release in June this year.
Samuel L. Jackson can currently be called a struggle actor. After the trained stop he put away the script and stepped out of the train he then called a taxi to his next destination. Taking out the script again to read and try to get into the character he would be playing.
He read all the lines of the character he was auditioning for in the script, ten minutes later he arrived at his destination Fire Foxx production. He quickly got out of the cab before heading to the audition location.
It's currently the final week of the audition, Samuel L. Jackson had already passed the first round off audition. After hearing about the audition from his agent who had informed him about it.
Like most struggle actors he usually had to attend multiple movie audition a day. Just to try and find a gig to pay the bills, this was a far cry from his future net worth of 250 million US dollars.
Samuel waited patiently for his turn at the audition. After twenty minutes his turn final came as he stood in the audition room where three men were seated. The first person his eyes met with was Harry who was seated on right.
The second person he layed his eyes on was a young Quentin Tarantino. Than finally Stevenson Michelle who set on the left, leaving Quentin Tarantino in the middle.
Tarantino wanted to original play one of the main characters in the scripts but, Alex had refused after ,he tried reading the script and acting in front of him. After which Alex told him that he should rather just stick to acting in his own flim after that, refusing to allow him to read the script with the actors auditioning.
" All right then you must be Samuel L. Jackson age 40 ...hmm that a nice sounding name." Said Stevenson after looking at the file with all of the actors credential and past roles.
This was the third stages of the audition that they were having. This is were they would see the actors for themselves and make their final decisions. Tarantino had attended most of the audition of the actor himself, unlike Harry and Stevenson.
"Alright, then you're here to audition for the part of the detective David Tapp." Confirmed Stevenson paying close attention to Jackson.
" Yes, I've read the whole script multiple times, and I think ,I'm the person for the role." Replied Jackson smiling as he spoke, wanting to impress the director with his charisma. Harry was pleased on seeing Jackson enthusiasm for the audition, of their movie unlike the other actors his seen.
Fire Foxx wasn't a well known television station in the US and was just one of the small television station here. There main success came in the form of their news and sports broadcast which was mainly soccer and tennis.
Unfortunately most of the rights to those broadcast were held in the hands of their main branch. Which had been originally in the hands of his brother-in-law parental family.
Due to this fact he was prompted to have a serious discussion over losing these broadcasting rights, with his brother-in-law. Daniel not wanting to deal with his father and half siblings any further basically left everything in Harry hands.
After, which Harry had to leave for England to negotiate for the rights to aquire ownership of the main branch of Fire Foxx back in Britain. Which was already in the midst of being sold to a third party by the company.
Dealing with his brother-in-law family irritated him to no end, he now realized why his brother-in-law decided to move continents.
They were honestly the most selfish and greedy people he had ever met up to this point in his life. Well at least he didn't need to worry about losing the broadcast rights for there sports and news, but mostly their sports deals.
Which is basically the small matches between relatively small soccer teams in Europe, as well as matches between amateur tennis players.
"Alright, then show us what you can do Mr. Jackson." Spoke Tarantino breaking Harry out of his thoughts and bring his attention back to the actor standing in front of them.
Samuel quickly took a deep breath before, entering character, his temperament changing to that a well season detective. The look in his had a look of suspension in them as he looked across the room. As he began to speak his line with the help of a script reader.
After, five minutes the enthusiasm of both Tarantino and Harry disappeared, not that Jackson was a bad actor at all.
But, the feeling that Jackson was giving off in his performance was not, what they had in mind for the character of detective David Tapp. He gave of a sort of cool and charismatic feeling to his performance.
On the other hand Stevenson expression reminded unchanging from being to end. Noting down Samuel L. Jackson name in a notebook that would be given to Alex, along with video tape of his audition.
The reason had to do with the feeling that Jackson was giving off and his acting wasn't bad. It just wasn't what they were looking for in the part of detective Tapp. After a five minutes Quentin Tarantino spoke, " Alright, we've seen all we needed thank for your time. We'll contact you inform you if you got the job."
After, hearing Tarantino words Jackson stop his reading, disappointed that he would most likely not be getting the part. However, he kept the smile on his face thanking the three of them for the opportunity before leaving the audition room.
After he left the three of them begin discussing about the performance they'd just witnessed, " I like his attitude and he seems like someone who's easy to work with. And his performance is pretty good better than most. " Spoke Harry, looking to his right finding both Quentin and Stevenson nodding their heads.
Yes, however I just think this role isn't for him, he was a little too charismatic and give off a cool guy feeling to his performance. What do the two of you think? " Asked Quentin looking at Harry then Stevenson.
" I liked his personality very much and his acting is very good in my opinion. I think his someone we can work with on many an other project in the near future." Add Harry.
"I agree with the both of you, his one of the few actors who's personality I genuinely liked. He's certainly someone we could work with in the future. " Add Stevenson.
" So we're all in agreement to pass on the role to someone else's. " Spoke Tarantino, too which both men nodded. Tarantino also made a mental note to remember Jackson name in his future movie projects. And like that the day continued as the audition period finally came to an end.
