Chapter 40: Cliche cunt
Starting my morning with a quick shower and breakfast, I take my shuckle necklace, balled my mons and started heading for the mental ward they call an academy, no trouble passing the gate this time even without the uniform.
As I'm making my way to the teachers building so I can find out how much of this shit I can skip, I'm confronted with another group of nobles....fuck me, do they just wait around in groups to cause shit with people?
As I see the lead one is about to speak, I put my hand up to stop him
Gideon " look, if you're here to avenge what I did to your buddies yesterday I'm going to advise against it, because I promise this doesn't end the way you think it will, so please save us all some time and just walk away"
Arrogant noble #1 " who does this commoner thinks he is to speak to us like that!?"
Another noble with silver hair and green eyes turns to look at the guy with a frown, that seems to shut him up quickly.... Silver hair and green eyes, great, it's a royal I'd bet, and let's see the odds of him being chill like Leo and Kane,
Likely prince " I apologise for lord stronde here, he seems to forget his manners, my name is Magnus Sinnoh, first prince of Sinnoh kingdom, a pleasure to meet you Gideon storm"
Wow, my first thought is "what a cunt" this guy just oozes arrogance, permanent sneer on his face, so this is Leo's brother huh...….. I can see the resemblance but this guys face just screams I'm better than you and I know it.
Gideon " ah, so you're Leo's brother, hey it's nice to meetcha, it's strange though because Kane never really mentioned you in our talks"
Magnus's face dropped at the mention of Leo and Kane, bad blood there it seems, cliche, but what can you do?
Magnus " yes, well let's not speak on that, I actually came here to invite you to join us, being in the situation you're in after humiliating the noble faction, I figured I would offer a hand in friendship, with my backing they wouldn't dare lay a finger on you"
He says with a big slimey smile like he's doing me a big favour, and anyone else in my situation probably wouldn't hesitate at the chance, but this guy is clearly after something, either my strength or something else but it doesn't matter the answer is no.
Magnus " you know the noble faction will look for compensation for this event, I would say they would ask for something quite substantial, it won't be easy to hold them at bay, you would have to make it worth my while to keep you safe…."
Wow, does this guy feel smart saying this? Because he just looks cheesy, I'm guessing this is some sort of shake down, a noble mugging if you will, so no thanks, but for interests sake let's find out what he wants..
Gideon " and pray tell your princelyness, what would make it worth your while?"
And the grin gets bigger, likes he's won, yeah, I was getting bad aura vibes off these guys from the beginning, but the smile just looks ridiculous on him.
Magnus " well I heard you had a little village that produces vespiquen honey and the finest silks in the market, if you handed me the rights to these businesses I could protect you from the wrath of the noble faction"
Money? That's what this is about? It has to be more than that right?, well whatever the case that seems to be the end of the generous offer prince Magnus has offered me.
Gideon " ooooo hard pass on that, but thanks for the offer, Bernal family has some beedrill nests, maybe try your luck there?"
Random noble " you filthy commoner! You dare to deny a prince of sinnoh after he offered you such a generous deal!?"
So cliche…. Magnus seems quite upset at the rejection, like everything he planned perfectly failed somehow, that turns to rage the following moment.
Magnus " do you have any idea who you're making an enemy out of!? You're a filthy commoner and I'm royalty, it should go without saying but as a commoner rat like yourself you need to obey royalty, and I'm ordering you to hand over the rights to those businesses!!"
Wow…..just wow, this guy is serious, no word play, tricky plots, just a big ol, give me your stuff because I want it...
Gideon " still ganna be a hard pass on that buddy, but what I will do is battle you for the rights…..all you gotta do is put something up of equal value if you somehow lose, let's say 100,000 gold coins and a turtwig egg?"
Magnus " you expect me to wager something? Laughable, why would I risk anything when I can just take it"
Gideon " go and take it then....gather your twatty buddies here and just go and take it.....why are you still here talking?...I'll tell you why... because you can't, royalty or no, you can't just "take" what ever you feel like when i suites your fancy, it would lead to a full blown civil war and you know it, you're all smoke and mirrors mate, no substance, making little threats and thinking I'm dumb enough to believe them, so either put your money where your mouth is or fuck off mate"
Magnus and all his little noble friends seem to be stunned, why do people just assume I'm dumb? Can't be due to having a commoner mother right? Magnus seems to realise his little bullshit scheme isn't working so I guess he's down to negotiate now?
Magnus " a battle is what you want is it? Fine we can battle for your little businesses, but we won't be using academy Pokémon….. we will use our older Pokemon…"
Gideon " fine by me mate, we can have the battle tomorrow, how does a 3v3 sound? Oh and I'll we will be using a neutral judge I'll organise, can't be having you buy off the match now can we … and we will declare before the match to everyone the bet so you can't worm your way out of it yeah?"
Magnus " have it your way commoner, just have the papers ready to hand over control"
He clomped back into the noble group behind him muttering what ever he was saying and, as they were leaving they were yelling the typical "you'll pay for this commoner", "this isn't over commoner" and the like, they really need to get a better insult vocabulary for commoners, the word's just dry now.
With that out of the way, turns out I need to attend at least 2 days a week to register for early graduation, cool beans, I can just skip the most of this noble bullshit.
So I spend the rest of the day to get in my 2nd day for the week out of the way, they teach the same thing as yesterday, just bullshit, one thing that caught my attention is that nobles tend to treat their Pokémon as mere "beasts" and not friends and partners.
And I also found out it's hard for people to bond with Pokémon, like truely bond, which I found weird because me and almost the entire little town can do it? Have they not found the correlation between not treating your Pokémon like shit and bonding?
I've said this before and I'll say it again, people of this world as dumb as shit,
But with the day out of the way, I start thinking about my upcoming battle tomorrow, I wouldn't put it past the little poo puncher to pull some bullshit like borrow some powerhouse Pokémon, fortunately I have my crew to just straight up fuck whatever he brings…..
I'm not worried in the slightest about losing, a free 100,000 gold and turtwig, ahhh yes please?
I'm going to pop home and grab gyarados just in case though, he's my strongest by far, and if I had to guess I would say he's coming up on guardian class.
But after that I need to continue on shuckles special training I've been thinking about…
