Chapter 2: Chapter Two: New Beginning
The tale of the tragedy travelled from town to town as it reached the king's ear. As soon as he heard the news, he quickly came home to go and see his wife and son.
But he the bad news did not reach him fast, when he step his foot on their town, people in town start looking at him in pity. Gossiping on what will now happen to their town if the only one who survived is the king - who's soon will retire - and the daughters of the royal family.
The King reaches the palace on where their home is. He slowly drops off his horse and slowly taking his steps forward toward their house. He can't almost recognize the palace, it was before colored in white and gold and now all he can see is gray and black.
He can clearly see how it was ruined by the fire, the garden in where it was filled by his queen's memories, them being happy together while raising their children. Now all of it was gone.
He regrets leaving their home to help other town, when he realizes that their town is the one who needed his help, especially his wife.
"Your Majesty." One guard greeted the king as he sees him standing.
"My queen?" The guard drop his eyes on the floor, watching how the shadow slowly fading as a dark cloud cover the raging sun.
"I'm sorry my king, we did our best to find the queen-" the king cut what the guard is about to say by patting its head.
He has no one to blame but himself. He knew that there was something wrong going on in other town, yet it did not come across his thought that it can also happen to their town. That what happens to others can also happen to them.
"And my son?" That was his last hope, his son. He will give his son the best life, teach him so many stuffs he needs to learn and tell him all about his mother. So even if his memory becomes blurry in the future, his son can still remember his mom and can tell him about his queen.
"King, the young prince..." the king patiently await what the guard was about to say.
"I'm sorry." Two worlds are too short but too powerful. Those words ruined his entire life. After waiting for a son for so many years, he cannot believe that he never - even once - met his son. His one and only.
Days after finding the queen ashes, the royal family dominated by the King hold a formal funeral for the Queen and their son. All the people in town attended the funeral, as well as Guidren and his family and the young prince being part of their family registration.
Months and years had passed, daughters of the royal family marries princes in other town, to gain more power and influence since they do not have a male in their family. His daughters becomes sacrifices despite him not agreeing on it, the royal council brought up this suggestion as they do not have any more option aside from these fact.
Guidren and his family decided to adopt the young prince and make him part of their family. They forge the documents to make the young prince their son and named him Florian Choi.
They were the one who sees him took his first step, to hear his first words. They were the one who sees every first of his instead of his mother.
With some little magic given by their Gods, Golden - Guildren Wife - receive a power to be able to record everything that she wants by her eyes. It will be stored in her memory or can be developed for a hard copy.
At 8 years old, the age where the people usually were given a power by their Gods. Guidren and his Wife Golden prepared everything they needed for this day. They dress him white week ago for the God to favor him, never forgetting to put white flowers on a circle to place on his head. White shoes and even all his stuffs becomes white.
The white color will change the moment that they receive their power. Color whether yellow, green or blue, changing all the white things they own.
"Father! Florian peed on his pants!" Yoona shouted - the youngest daughter of Guidren.
"I am younger that you but you are far, far far nastier than me!" Yoona complained about Florian as she quickly stood upon her bed and make an irritated noise as she cross her arms on her chest.
Davient - oldest son of Guidren - came inside as he heard his sisters complain beside his room. He shook his head from right to left, as he cannot believe what he is seeing. Florian is sitting on the floor with his teary eyes that he knows. Later he might cry a bucket if left alone. While Yoona is standing on her bed looking so grumpy.
Guidren and his wife came last. They both let out a heavy sigh. It was always clear to them that this will be always be the case to their family. The two children in their home will never be close to each other and will be always a cat and dog.
"I'll clean Florian, Guidren you take of the mess we made earlier and as the two of you..." Golden look at her two children. "Help your father." Davient gave a thumbs up as for Yoona. She was sulking more because of her mother's command.
When the three of them leave the room. Golden then looked at the door to ease Florian that it will be only him and his mother. As she drop her eyes on his son, it formed a sweet smile on her lips. She dropped to her knees and place her arms on his underarm and lift him to stand.
She slowly brush his head while looking directly into his eyes. "It was okay my dear, you can always makes mistake and no one will be mad." She hushed him the moment she could see tears rolling on his pinkish cheeks.
"Mother! Father says it was done!" Yoona shouted on top of her lungs for her mother to hear from outside to her room.
"Thank you, darling! Coming!" Golden responses.
"It's okay Florian, it is fine." She keeps on making Florian comfortable with his mistakes on pissing himself with his clothes on.
The moment that Florian stopped crying, Golden took that opportunity to remove his clothes, wipe his lower body using a wet white towel and put another piece of clothes on his body.
"You might not want to know your power, which is fine, baby. No one will judge even if you become powerless. There are tons of powerless people in our town and they never get treated differently." Golden wipes his tears that were left on his cheeks.
"No matter what it is, your family is right behind you."
