Shin's daily routine after returning home is to prepare the bath. In his new life, Shin took a quick shower in the morning after exercising with his mother. As a Japanese person in this life, he got to know the charm of taking a soak in a bathtub and hot springs.
Shin would heat the water, fill the tub, clean his body before soaking himself in the hot water to wash away all his tiredness from the day. By the time he was out of his bath, his mother would return home from work.
Shin and his mother talked about their day for a while doing some mother-son bonding.
The next item on his list was to do his homework and revise the material taught in class. SHin was never overwhelmed with studies because he studied every day and didn't material pile up, as expected of the routine lover.
While he was doing his homework, his father would return home and hop into the bath.
Unlike Shin and his father, who preferred their baths just after coming home, SHin's mother took one just before going to sleep.
Shin would then set the table, and the Yukimura family proceeded to eat on the dining table away from the T.V. They liked to talk to each other during the meal, and it was a good family bonding time.
Shin's parents weren't able to watch the game, so the topic for today was the game, Shin told them about his teammates, the opposite team, score, and who they will be going against on day three.
Dad: "We both are free on the day of the finals, do you think you, and your team can win all the way."
Shin: "Of course, our team this year is very skilled."
Mom: "Then we will come to see your match. It has been a while since I have seen my baby boy play."
Shin: "Mom! I am not a baby anymore. I am already twelve years old and would become thirteen next month."
Both of Shin's parents laughed, seeing SHin complaining and getting embarrassed.
After dinner, Shin's parents both went for their daily walk together to spend some time alone with each other.
Shin:"They sure do act all lovey-dovey, why couldn't they just make a younger sister from me to pamper."
Now the only task left was to watch Shoei's match video and see how far had Kiyoshi Teppei had developed.
While watching the video, Shin found two players on Shoei who were any good; Kiyoshi Teppei who played as the center, and Nakamura Taichi, who played at the power forward, both were second years.
The rest of the team was not useless, but neither were they anything special.
All of them had above average height and skill, but that was all.
Nakamura Taichi was fast and had sharp movements. He was capable of leaving behind his mark with ease, his sharp movements, and skill were more than enough to handle most of any tricky situations.
Unlike Aone who balanced between offense and defense, Nakamura Taichi was an all offensive player and left defense to Kiyoshi Teppei, and his team.
Now coming to their ace and most skilled player, future uncrowned king; Kiyoshi Teppei.
Kiyoshi is a powerful center with great technical skills. If he was to be put another way, Kiyoshi was an efficient player with very less useless movement n his moves. He was quick under the post with a great sense of timing for jumping for rebounds.
He was the same height as Aone, standing at 184 cm tall, but Kiyoshi Teppei was more agile and more powerful than Aone.
Shin knew that in the future, Kiyoshi'sm larger hands would provide more control in deciding plays in the paint, but he also knew that if he trained his speed and explosiveness more, he would be able to hinder Kiyoshi's 'impossible to predict plays'.
Shin: "Tomorrow, Teiko would be playing, but I don't think I would be able to go watch, the stadium is far away and the coach wouldn't take any students. Well, at least I will have the video of their game."
Shin closed his eyes and drifted off to sleep
What SHin didn't know was that he was not the only one reviewing others; Teiko, SHoei, and other schools were analyzing the game of champions
Being a reigning champion or even a well- know team meant that there was a lot of data about you available, and people would try to make strategies to defeat with each game you play.
From all other team's perspectives, this year's Yoyogoi was powerful; Otsubo Taisuke and Aone Takanobu had gained a lot of height and could easily muscle out most of their peers. Ishid Hideki, while not a particularly athletic player, had solid basic skills, and experience.
Then there was Mibuchi Reo, even though none of them knew about his 'special' shooting style, even without them he was a national level player and a terrifying shooter.
And last was the new rookie, Yukimura SHin. Even though it was only one game, most of them saw his performance for what it was, exceptional. Experienced coaches from middle schools and high schools, who were looking to recruit talented third-years. saw how he cripple Iwatobi's teamwork and scoring ability.
But what shocked them was the last five minutes in which he used one pattern and was still able to score every single time. They didn't even know how to describe that.
Most people switched between moves so that they could trick the defense, but how do you define a player who was able t score using a single move repeatedly and continuously.
Shin left his house for school in a good mood. He was happy with his performance from yesterday, and he was looking forward to watching Teiko's tape.
Shin: "*Sigh*. Still, I would have to wait till after dinner today to watch the video. Man, I hope this day ends quickly."
Yoyogi was famous for its high standards in sports, but it also had a high standard for academics. The staff in the school experienced and helped students to achieve more.
Yoyogi's school uniform consisted of a white shirt and grey pants, in winters, there was the option for a deep blue blazer or a sweater.
Shin's school day was the same as always, hanging out with friends between classes, studying seriously, taking notes, etc.
Shin was popular in school; he was tall, good looking, smart, talked politely to everyone, and helped around when needed.
WHile SHin was popular in school, he made sure not to take any responsibilities. He knew that there was no gain in those, and he didn't have time for other duties. Shin liked to be free, concentrate on basketball, and his school life.
Shin: "There is no time like school days."
Yoyogi's basketball club had two identical gyms under them, both gyms had three courts along the width of the court, and one main one along the length.
The only difference was the gym used by second and third-string had markings for volleyball as well, and if the basketball club was not practicing, the volleyball club could practice there.
The gym used by first-string only had markings for basketball, there used to be similar markings years ago, but as the popularity of the basketball club increased, the school removed the markings.
Shin entered the court he felt at peace, he liked to spend time on court.
To most people, a basketball court wouldn't be the ideal place to relax or be content. There'susually a cacophony of noises occurs around the court, and people are always in danger of getting hit by the ball if they are not paying attention. But to Shin, he enjoyed it. Shin enjoys hearing the basketball bounce repeatedly, the squeaking of shoes, the sound the net makes when the ball goes through it as well as the disappointing clank of the rim when someone misses. He also enjoys the constant yelling and talking going on around him as he either plays or spectates.
The only other place that gave him the same feeling the dining table at his home during mealtime.
Shin with a smile, announced his arrival with a greeting and looked forward to another day of practice, and improvement.
At the end of practice, Mibuchi handed him a CD.
Mibuchi: "Shin here is the copy of Teiko's game you requested."
Shin: "Thank you senpai."
Mibuchi: "Do you think Teiko this year is strong with most of their team and bench full of first-year."
Shin:"Teiko has been our rivals for many years, and they take basketball as seriously as we do, so I don; t think they will just put in first-years if they don't deserve to be on the team. As for how good they are, coach told us that they won by a larger margin than ours."
Shin left Mibuchi, who had a thoughtful expression on his face.
After dinner at Yukimura household, Shin sat in front of his computer and booted up the Teiko's video. After watching it once, he paused it for a while and thought about what he saw for a while.
Shin: "Generation Of Miracles even if they have not bloomed yet they still are skilled players, and more importantly because they have not developed. they still work together as a team. With Akashi and Kuroko handling the passing, I don't there is a team in the country with better teamwork than Teiko's.
Shin: "The main problem here is Akashi Seijuro. The current Akashi is the 'True' Akashi, and the 'Other' Akashi s still sleeping in the confines of his mind.
'True' and 'Other' are the two parts that made up Akashi Seijuro.
The 'True' personality had the perfect vision for passing, could bring out the best of his teammates and was a team player. Shin would compare to a skilled conductor who could help an Orchestra produce divine melodies.
The 'Other'personality had the Emperor's Eye, which could see the future of his opponent in front of him. He had much stronger personal skills than 'True' personality, but he lost the perfect vision for passing. He was like a strong dictator none the less.
Shin: "If I could choose, I would choose to go against the 'Other personality at any time of the day. His Emperor Eye would still be able to see my 'future', but that future would be useless. God-Speed Impulse allows me to change that future before Akashi could use that future."
Shin's current court vision was equivalent to the vision granted by Eagle-Eye, and he knew that if he kept working hard, he would obtain the perfect vision like 'True' Akashi by the time he entered high school.
Shin: "But that doesn't mean that I will lose to Akashi in playmaking, with Perfect Copy I know my teammates better than they know themselves and with God-Speed Impulse, I could react to any much faster than Akashi. It just means that I would have to restrict my playmaking to the small part of the court I can."
Shin: *Sigh, "True" Akashi becomes an even bigger problem when you give him people like other miracles to play with."
"True" Akashi was able to draw out max potential from his teammates, but what would happen if the people from he drew had limitless potential.
