Chapter 99: Party

Valerie knew that there was no use in persuading the woman as her decision had been set in stone, and as something came in her mind, she questioned, "What's the issue with Kayden and you?"

Laura paused for a second at it before smiling and voicing out, "Why? Could it be that you are curious about me? What's with this newfound emotion? Or is it that you simply want to gossip?"

"Forget it," Valerie said, immediately regretting her decision.

"You asked me so eagerly," she stated, "it would hurt me to refuse you."

This made Valerie arch her eyebrows.

Laura sighed.

"You see, it is nothing much. Look at me, and don't you think it is a loss to modelling industry that I chose to be a psychiatrist? It is this beauty of mine that charmed Kayden and made him fall for me. I didn't feel same for the poor lad and rejected him. That's why, he now bears a grudge against me. How pitiful am I."
