After that, even if Valerie wanted to fall asleep, she found herself being wide awake. She felt too conscious around Lucian and wanted to ask what he actually meant.

He truly was confusing her.

And if he did that to prevent her from overthinking, that was a wrong action to take because this only made her more anxious about the situation unfortunately.

In order to not communicate with him, she had her eyes closed, pretending to be asleep while he steadily drove the car. When the car stopped in front of her apartment, she opened the door and got out in a hurry.

As she was about to rush away, Lucian opened the door to his side and stepped out before saying, "Be sure to sleep tight, and I will catch up with you for meal tomorrow. Good night."

She turned back and nodded before voicing out, "Be careful about shooting in the woods. Don't act recklessly just because you find it fun. I will be mad if you get hurt."

Lucian raised an eyebrow at it.
