Chapter 13: The First Step to Knowing the Legions!
It's been 3 days... I have read all the Books of this person, nicknamed as 'Mash'... It was a tall order. I spent three — THREE whole days, with no sleep, just to decrypt all of her paining, troubling, mentally-afflicting, brain-disturbing, mind oppressing books consisting of 100 Volumes!
'total words... 12,045,465... No, was it 10,673,423?'
"Oh no... I'm going crazy... I need me some Rimu... Rimu?"
'She's sleeping... I'm gonna need to move her in the bed... Yeah... She's cute... Now time to hibernate for 1 whole year...'

And I awoke... Scratched my ever so blurry eyes, I stood up from the Bed.
'Groaaan How many Years — Ehrm, Days did I sleep?'
—"No matter. I'm alive and already well, so time to head off!"
Thus I did. Because of the countless volumes I've read, my mind seemed to be more coherent that usual.
'I feel like everything's suddenly predictable...? Maybe this is the same Skill, Hiro had used to see the future?... — Guess not.'
As I was contemplating, all the while walking, I saw the Legion I fear the most!
'...Ah, Suisei. She's fierce as usual today. To the point that it's scary as hell!' Surmised, I stroked my chin 'Shouldn't pry carelessly on any Legion's personal data, otherwise, I'll attract unnecessary attention.'
"Ah, Hiro"
He stood gallantly, like an elf of royal blood. Consequently, he approached and inquired oh-so-worriedly. "Where were you for the past 2 days? I tried knocking but you didn't open" Deep in thought, I wondered 'Did he even knock? I must've spaced out'
Hiro kept on with his nonsensical-blather. It reached that certain point on which I got irked 'Hiro, sometimes. Can be... Annoying' Gloomy, I added. "Yeah, alright, alright. I get it, I get it. You were worried."
"That response didn't seem truthful at all. You need only say it once, not twice"
'Yes, yes, I know, I know'
"—Again,"
Interrupting his prattle I regained my spirit! "—Hiro, I have something to do. See you later!" I ran towards the door.
'Unto the Palace Garden!'
Thus, I arrived...
Unto the fountain, I went. Sat, the great I, pondered! "Ahhhhh, this is the best. Don't you agree Rimu?" The Ever-so-Adorably-Cute-Slime repplied with a "Wobble."
Placing the Purplish-pink, adorable, magnificent, oh-so-praiseworthy-godly-stellar Rimu beside me. Both of us enjoyed the visually tranquil view.
Pensively, I thought to myself... 'I have... Really become a Legion, huh. I can't access the Magia Records so I need to get stronger...' Frustrated, I scratched my head violently "Arrgghhh!"
'Why do I have to work hard to be stronger!? Can't I just skip steps?'
My Skill, [Perception] sensed someone near proximity.
'Someone's getting closer. Figure of a Human. Dressed in robes of blue. What simple clothing...'
Turned so warily, 'It's the King!' Raised his arms, signaling something 'Is that supposed to mean 'stay'?' Subsequently, the Royal man, was parallel to the Great I!
"Shuma. I commend, you for becoming a Legion."
'Becoming a Legion just gave me more problems. Honestly'
Politely, in a face so straight, I replied. "I am nothing of worth to be praised by your revered royal highness."
Stated, with a manner so kind and eyes so caring, "Do spare the royalties. Please call me King Weiss..."
'This King's not so bad... If this guy's an imprudent jack-ass, I'd take over the Kingdom by laying the groundwork for a month and hand it to Takahiro. It's a lot better than having a fool as King.'
While I was in profound thought, King Weiss, sat on my right, while Rimu, napped on the left. We enjoyed the placid scenario and that helped me concentrate on the making of my next scheme!
"Shuma, how do you find Weiss?"
'Well, that was sudden...'
"Hmm... King, truthfully, I think Weiss is the most civilized out of all the Kingdoms I've ever visited — 'Since I've read it in a book, obviously' Continued, "And I'm sure that there's nothing to complain about it. It's the best Kingdom there is."
"Haha! I see!" Stood up, he excused himself. "Very well, Do have a pleasant stay and enjoy the scenario my child. I have to attend to royal duties."
'There he goes...'
Following that, a random idea popped to my ever-always complexed head "To get stronger, I'd have to learn how each Legion operates!"
Having found a reason to act, I extended my [Perception] Range, encompassing the whole Palace. 'Hmmm, 8 Legions inside...' Extending my Range even more. surrounding almost half of Weiss' Boundaries. 'Including me, that makes 11...'
"Get on, Rimu."

[Remote Transfer, Activated]
'Mash's books taught me lots of Skills... No wonder I can sense... I can sense...'
Stood up. Dumbfounded, "Wow! I can sense them! Despite them concealing their Magias!? Rather, I'm also concealing mine like it's nothing?!"
'Woah! I didn't notice, but I've been masking my Magia for forever now, have I?!'
It took time before I calmed down... I patted Rimu and hugged her plump figure. Jumped around, did some Pushups, performed some Magic gimmicks. And so...
"Hah, I'm calm. Now, moving on. I need a to create a skill formula from the knowledge I obtained and conceptualize or visualize a formula to create a skill called Observer..."

'Now let's take a peek...'
"Mhmm... "

Thereafter, I observed all 10 Legion's movements in real time. They did a variety of things. One slew beasts on the dungeon to the point that I lost sight. The other, listlessly laid flat on fields of grass...
Subsequently time passed in a flash and night arrived.
"By simple deduction I successfully extracted all their names along with a few of their Skills... It's an all-win situation, I'd say."
'It was a tough effort not to get noticed though...'
"That was nerve-wracking! Tomorrow calls for: 'Operation: I'll be befriending all of the Legions!'"
And indeed, tomorrow came...
"A new day, in this new world!"
Henceforth, I searched for my first target. Elric, the Legion... 'There he is!' Approaching closer, I spoke "Hello" Turned, he replied "If it isn't Shuma. The New guy." Myself answered, "Yes, Uhm, Elric-s-s"
'—Honorifics are too much of a hassle. I doubt they'd mind anyways.'
As follows, Elric asked. "What did you need from me?"
'Hmm, Hiro described them as jerks but. Being here personally... He looks fairly normal. — I wholly doubt that guy named Shin who just shunned me though.'
Touched the back of my head, I uttered and gave off a bright smile "Nothing much, actually. I would just like to get to know all my fellow Legions. Since I'm new and all" — 'At this point, Shouldn't I just be a spy? I do all things covertly, after all.'
"If that's the case, then I'm the perfect guy for that"
'What's with that muscle-pose? And so much for perfect, you're way too buff for a Half-Dwarf that it puts me off!'
Nevertheless with his unique interactions, I kept composed! "Well then, Elric, please do guide the way!"
And so, he led me! For the whole day, we wandered, I talked him into leaking diverse info about details, beneficial to me...
'This guy is no Jerk... How did Hiro infer that?'
For the remaining day, we talked, uttered jests... Which's why, I theorized thus...
'I blame Hiro's air-headedness for this. I bet he just misunderstood all the Legion's intents.'
Henceforward, my Info-extrac— Ehrm... Friendly guise... Persisted!

CREATORS' THOUGHTS 
Shuma
Shuma This was a tough Chapter! I kept getting a writer's block :( What's to blame for that is the fact that I'm a Plantser + I didn't have names, ready for the rest of the Legions.
Additionally, I had to avoid the possibility of a persisting info-dump. — Info/Exposition-Dumps are my greatest foe!
I think I should also learn how to write a prose-y chapter naturally. Without making it feel awkward
