Chapter 31: Reiji's Braveness
Somewhere from a long time ago, there is a place called the human empire, it was the place where lots of humans could be seen everywhere, it was also one of the largest Empires in the higher realm. and this empire was attacked by the most wicked Demon King and almost destroyed. There are lots of human bodies scattered everywhere and almost create a pool of blood, their faces have a look of disbelief, terrified, fear, grief, sorrow, etc. different kinds of despairing emotions are what they felt before they died.
In the middle of these human bodies without a soul is the Demon King, at first, he was so engrossed in devouring all the human's souls he sees but when he was in the state of ecstasy of having full of the souls he devoured and the rise of his power there are two individuals suddenly appeared and restricted him. His whole body felt a heavy pressure pinning him down. He groaned as the pressure becomes even heavier.
The two individuals are part of the 7 Great Kings, they started asking him the reason for his action, and when he said that the humans are only for him to be killed and their soul to be devoured to make him stronger and smiled wickedly, one of the two Great King suddenly started to blaze in rage as he started to torture him by burning him alive. The Demon King wails in agony and pain as the flame that was burning him was the Phoenix Flame that can even burn the darkness of souls. Because these two Great Kings are much stronger than him, He doesn't have a chance of scaping. All he can do is curse at them.
"DAMN YOU! EVEN IF I DIE TODAY, I WILL RETURN AND DEVOUR FIRST YOUR DESCENDANTS ONE BY ONE! AS I BECAME MORE POWERFUL MUCH MORE POWERFUL THAN YOU AND DEVOUR ALL YOUR KINGLY SOULS!
"WHAT GREAT KINGS! JUST YOU WAIT! I WILL RETURN THIS HUMILIATION I RECEIVE TEN FOLDS!!!!
The Great King who is burning him didn't have any change in his expression, only a look of disgust and mockery "You can revive all you want, you can come at me anytime, I will just burn you again and again alive. He looked at Shinichi and also felt the same aura from him and the Flame that is burning brightly in Shinichi's palm. his expression changes to one who lost insanity, He now had the expression of Madness. His body started to tremble, it was not from fear but it was from anger, humiliation, and vengeance.
"So, you are one of the descendants of that hateful Great King, VERY GOOD VERY GOOD!" Mammon shouted
Shinichi was taken aback as he heard Mammon's statement. He suddenly felt something was wrong with Mammon and has a bad feeling about it.
"What are you talking about?" Shinichi asked in confusion
"Don't deny it! You are the first one who will experience my vengeance and to let you know what will happen by humiliating me the great Demon King! I will kill all your people one by one in front of you and make you feel despair!" Mammon shouted and he suddenly rush towards the mages with tremendous speed making Shinichi dumbfounded
The bad feeling that Shinichi was having was about to happen in front of him as he followed Mammon wanted to stop him. His heart was started to beat fast as the image of the people he wanted to save was killed one by one by Mammon.
The mages were caught off guard by this action of Mammon they just cast the most powerful magic defense recently and their mana was depleted again. Reina, Esri, Fiona, and Lisa were the only ones who react as they went to the front to block Mammon but his speed was faster than theirs.
Mammon saw the two women who fought his two-underling wanted to block him and he recalled that this two have a deep affection towards Shinichi. He smiled wickedly from ear to ear and he sped up even more and he suddenly thrust his two hands towards Esri and Reina coated with dark magic wanted to kill the two of them.
Reina and Esri felt their Death was approaching as they don't have enough time to cast a defensive magic defense that can block the powerful attack of Mammon. But when he was about to kill the two of them a red-haired young man suddenly appeared to the side of Mammon and he squeeze and unleashed his last bit of magic power remains.
"Flame Magic: Explosion!
Reiji smashes the magic technique in close range to make it even more impactful to Mammon. Mammon's reflexes counter Reiji as he changes his attack to Reiji's direction and slammed it to his magic.
Boom!
Mammon didn't receive any damage by Reiji's magic and he was sent flying with his blood splattered in the air. but Reiji's action was not in vain because it gives enough time for Shinichi to catch up to Mammon. he raises his fire's temperature to its highest level and maximizes his power with the acceleration speed as he followed Mammon, he punched Mammon with all his might.
"Fire Magic: Jet Fire Fist!"
Boom! Woosh!
Mammon was sent flying 300 meters away as the ground he passed was destroyed and smashed to the ground before it exploded creating a huge crater. Shinichi didn't follow Mammon but instead, he rush towards Reiji and all the mages also followed suit.
"Reiji! I'm sorry!" Shinichi said as he looked at Reiji's body covered in blood. He didn't ask if he was alright because it was obvious that he wasn't
Unexpectedly Luli was the first to rush and held Reiji as she cried only looking at Reiji. "ha-ha- Cough- Cough- Boss! I finally broke out from my shackles of being a coward ha-ha- Cough Cough"
"Yes, I can see it with my two eyes, you are the bravest man I encountered ever since I started my journey," Shinichi said as he smiled.
"Ha-ha cough, cough, boss! Do I have the qualification to follow you now? Can I become like you in the future?" Reiji asked as he continue to cough lots of blood.
"Of course, you can, you have more than enough qualifications you can even surpass me if you want," Shinichi replied
Shinichi doesn't have any brothers or male friends that he could call a best friend because all who called him a friend were all because of his fame. But for the first time in his life.
There is one person who he wanted to become his best friend or even becoming his brother. It was Reiji, yes at first, he was a coward only thinking of himself but you can't really hate him because it was the reflex of a human who faces death no human doesn't fear death.
But after that action of Reiji, He changes his first impression of Reiji. The truth is he was really brave, he was brave enough to remove the fear of death and faced it. If it's not for Reiji, there is a possibility that Reina and Esri or even the surrounding people will die from Mammon's sneak attack.
Reiji shook his head ever so slightly in difficulty and said "I don't want to surpass you, boss! I want to be beside you and face hardship and fought alongside you. I wanted to see you boss standing at the peak of the mages all over the world even in the higher realm."
"So, please boss! Don't lose to anyone, become the undefeatable prodigy who we can be proud of and become the strongest. Please defeat that damn Demon. Cough cough cough" Reiji said with full of worship to Shinichi as he started to cough heavily
Undefeatable Prodigy was the title of Shinichi in his previous life but this title has no meaning in him because he doesn't have the freedom to even enjoy that title. But now, he felt different, the itch in his heart of wanting to grab that same title again in this world and present it to his brother is screaming from the depth of his soul. And this is also the only way he can think of to repay his debt to Reiji. This title is only for him from his previous life and even in the present.
"Fiona! Quick heal my brother!" Shinichi shouted
Fiona didn't delay and cast her most powerful healing magic "Water and Light Magic: Cure Heal"
A Ball of water was shining brightly as it engulfs Reiji's whole body and started to heal all his injuries little by little. Reiji felt comfortable and the pain he felt was slowly disappearing.
Reiji felt move when he heard Shinichi call him his brother, before he closed his eyes, he left a word for Shinichi could hear. "Boss! I will train harder to become powerful, to become your right hand and shake the world." Reiji said before he closed his eyes without a worry in his sleeping face. He doesn't doubt his boss that he could defeat that demon.
Shinichi didn't know what to say to this brother of his that was full of worship in him. He felt something to his heart for the first time that he doesn't understand at all. Having a comrade or a life and death brother is the first time for him. The experience he encounters in his journey in his present life was new for him.
